One thing to keep in mind when you use another tabletop. The Idasen tabletop is light so you have enough wheight to put on it before you exceed the 75kg limit for the motor. If you use a solid tabletop it can add wheigt. For example I used a solid plastic table of 50kg... together with the attributes on the table it was too heavy for the motors.

I checked at the store, and since a few month IKEA happens to have a desk that's even beter: the MITTZON. A big disadvantage about this desk is the fact that is doesn't have a memorized button with a pre-set hight. The app is a nice-to-have function that I won't probably use and even the app doesn't seem to solve this issue. The problem today is that the black MITTZON has logistics problems until october, but I guess it's worth to wait!

I would recommend adding an extra strong plate plus cushion (can be plastic) under the monitor arm fasteners and optionally also above if they are too small, especially for heavier monitors, and especially if you don't want the fasteners to dig into your tabletop with time.

I had the regular version of this desk, and it is super stable. It's the underframe IMO, as the stabilizing beam runs right across the tabletop, instead of running across the corners. I'm typing on a cheaper Ikea desk now, and the monitor shake when I type is very irritating!

I will see if I can use the Vivo under desk computer mount to fit in my Mini PC tower which will make it look a lot neater. Most asked question about standing desks is the stability which you don't get into at all. And the included mesh cable organizer is crap. You'd want a tray type for better organization. Also heavier solid wood table top can void the warranty as they're heavier than the Idasen top. Have you talked to the staff at all?
@felixkruip4 жыл бұрын
Due to Linak’s tightness of the columns and the design of the lower portion of the frame, it’s super stable. BTOD says, the front to back the stability of the Ikea Idasen is the best they've tested by far to date. For more specs, check their video. Regarding the cable organizer. I think it's a matter of personal preference. I like this version better than the tray-type I used before. The warranty is for the Linak system. If a heavier tabletop results in a broken system, I'm not sure how IKEA will handle this. I didn't think of this. Thanks for your critical comment.

@@RRoy89 I think the table won't have a problem with heavier weights. If I remember well, it should hold up to 70kg of weight. However, if you put all the weight at one specific point on the table (especially the middle), then i think it may start to bend a tiny bit. Not sure tho, as i've never tried this. @@doubleu1446 Thanks for replying! I have my CPU on the left side, right above the metal bar while the rest of the items (one smaller screen and computer speakers) in the middle. There is definitely not enough weight in the middle portion. However I noticed, the table wobbles slightly when I'm changing the height. It's probably due my crappy laptop stand which start wobbling as soon as it senses motion. But so far, the table corrects itself when it notices wobbling. I hope it doesn't create an issue in the long run. So far the table seems very sturdy.
@dealiffy65334 жыл бұрын
The only challenge with this desk is that the tabletop is not solid (as you mentioned) and it bends in quite easily on the longer version. On the other hand solid table top will weigh much more eating into the 75kg max weight that the system can support. At this price it's a nice desk either way.

Actually, it is still going super strong. Currently have KRKs on monitor arms, and an extra ultra wide monitor. I am very surprised by how much weight the normal desk top can carry. Thanks for the comment! I wouldn’t trust mounting 13kg weight under the top with screws. A solid wooden top might be great for that.

@@felixkruip ok great. Yes in fact I was thinking of using a birch wooden top from IKEA or something similar but definitely not honeycomb. Do you have any recent videos or pics with the current setup?

Pick either the music or the assembly. Or turn the music down. Good review thought!

Love the review, quite a nice format/lighting to the video. I'm contemplating on getting this too, but I'm also looking at mounting my PC underneath my desk with a PC bracket. Even though it's an ITX, the "hollow" interior scares me.. :(

What did you get? I think the motor is too weak for that. Regarding anchor point, you could tap into the existing, reinforced points using a makeshift adapter if things do not line up- e.g., steel piece or even wood with a bunch of holes in it. Easy.

How did you connect the desk to the PC?

Hey! There's an error in your description, you say: " I got the (largest) 120-cm by 80-cm. I love the size." when in the video you say you got the one that is 160cm wide.

can you switch off bluetooth for the table?
@felixkruip2 жыл бұрын
Sure. As long as you don’t press the Bluetooth button, it’s off.

@@felixkruip just bought the table and tested it with acoustimeter 2, can confirm that the table emits constant EMF radiation coming from the right motor (master) compartment, meaning the bluetooth is always on. the bluetooth button on the height controller only makes the desk discoverable. No way to switch bluetooth off.

@somedudeontheinternet2253 Can you switch bluetooth off by switch off the power plug? And will bluetooth be on if you only use the button for the height adjustment on the table top without the app?

One of the legs of my IDASEN desk is locked in a specific position, and the other one (master) has moved all the way down (it won't move up). Now I have a desk at a 45 degree angle which is not very useful. The engine tries to start, but it seems like something is blocking it. Resetting methods found on the internet aren't working. Has anyone had such a problem and knows how to solve it?
@felixkruip4 жыл бұрын
I actually think this may have to do with the one wire that goes through the middle and connects the master to the other side. Did you check that connection?
