True, but the IKEA one doesn’t use HEPA filtration. Your sharp would do a more effective job.

The filters are sold seperately. It's recommended to change them every 6 months. An LED indicator also illuminates when you need to check the filters and possibly replace them.

I thought air purifiers work best when they out in the open rather than tucked into an enclosed space.
@foralltechkind3 жыл бұрын
This is very true, but most air purifiers work with a 360 degree intake, this one only has an intake on the front. Plus I only turn it on an night really when I’m not at the desk, and my room is so small it doesn’t fit anywhere else. Finally, after it’s been on the Eve Room air quality monitor which is on the other side of the room indicates air quality is excellent, so it’s obviously working!

I’d say about 120-140cm maybe. Hard to measure now as it’s mounted on my wall. But it’s long enough that it has clips to coil the cable to the back of the device if you don’t need the extra cable.

@4drops3 жыл бұрын
Just bought one myself. I'm thinking about if it'd be easy to modify so you can control the fan speed via the app. Or maybe it doesn't even require modification, but it's enough to set it to max speed and merely use a smart "fan control plug" (I guess this is risky, in case you get voltages incorrect)?
@foralltechkind3 жыл бұрын
No way to control fan speed with an app as the switch to control it is a dial which requires manual interaction unfortunately.

Hi. Loved the video. I have a question about something under the desk. On the right hand side, is that a laptop? And how are you mounting it on the side like that? What do you use?
@foralltechkind2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Yeah that’s my laptop hidden away. I used a wall tablet (iPad) mount and just adjusted the width to fit my laptop. It works well enough but I’d love something a bit more secure, the lip on the mount is designed for a tablet, so it doesn’t hug the laptop as much as I’d like it to.

Nice I just picked one up for "green Friday" -$10 so $50 USD instead of $60 I have 2 questions, how do I remove the fabric handle? I see in the pics where it is wall mounted that the handle is off , I tried removing it and it doesn't seem to want to budge, I really don't want to try and force it I was wondering if there was some trick to it. but maybe you haven't figured it out yet either since yours is wall mounted and it still has the handle on it also second question is about the tiny button inside where the filter goes, I assume you press it when you change the filter ,i pressed mine but it was before I plugged it in but I forgot to press it again after I plugged it in and when I put the filter in, was I supposed to press it? how does it work and what does it do exactly? I assume it starts some kind of count down timer for when to replace the filter , wondering if you know how it works , I already put he box with the manuals in storage
@foralltechkind3 жыл бұрын
No idea if you can remove the handle or not, I haven’t tried. The button just ejects the filter I believe. So if you’re button is still pressed in, it means your filter isn’t properly in.
@andreamitchell47583 жыл бұрын
@@foralltechkind oh it seems like an electronic micro switch and it is behind the filter , are you sure it is for ejecting the filter? I think it might have something to do with a replacement timer, the handle must come off, it shows it on ikeas site in the pics where it is mounted to the wall

Thanks for producing this video! They recently finally became available in Singapore for around $100 (close to the UK price of £50), and once neat advantage I see with this compared to 3M air purifiers I've considered is that this is wall mountable, and I'm going to try and head back to my local IKEA store tomorrow to try and lift up one of their demo units to see if I can get away with hooking them onto adhesive wall hooks. (Edit: I just checked their website, and the weight is 3.05 kg with both filters installed, and likely with the stand installed too, so that puts adhesive hooks out of the question for me. I still have a place where I could put one on its stand, though) As much as I like my Xiaomi air purifier with all of its great smart features AND the fact that i just have one filter cartridge to replace instead of separate filters, its intake is near the floor and my issue is that my body generates lots of dust, my nose is sensitive to dust, and that the dust takes a while to settle down when I have my air purifier running, so I could very well see myself getting one or two of them for my bedroom if I have the space to put them up high, and likely leave them on medium speed and control them using BroadLink or IKEA smart sockets.
