I would argue that the absence of a HEPA filter is actually an advantage for this air purifier rather than a disadvantage. While HEPA filters are great for cleanrooms where there is an uniform airflow pattern from top to bottom, in typical home environments the purified air from the air purifier would mingle with the room's existing dusty air. If the same air purifier is equipped with a 99.97% HEPA filter vs a 99.5% non-HEPA filter, the non-HEPA filter can actually remove more dust in a typical home environment compared to the HEPA filter. This is because a non-HEPA filter would have a increased airflow compared to the HEPA filter. Furthermore, at the same airflow rate, a HEPA filter would use up more power and produce more noise.

I have one and the difference in air quality is immediately noticeable. I didn't know it uses so little energy, so now I will leave it always on and perhaps add its bigger brother too.

The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

What is considered a true HEPA filter? The H13? H13 has higher pressure drop than H12 so you would need a more powerful fan, hence more noise and power?

Yes. I have it on a smart socket and at speed 2. I use automation to turn it off when I leave home and turn on when I come back and it turns on on the previous speed.

For anyone that might be reading this in the future and that is wondering with how loud it is, I have one of these on 24/7 in my room and I sleep with it at night on its lowest setting and I forget it's even there. I can hear a very faint white noise but I have to actually focus to even be able to hear it because your brain just gets used to it and you feel like it's not even there, and if anything it's quite pleasant. Similar to the sound of mild rain when you're indoors. One night my electricity went out and it actually felt weird trying to sleep without it on with the subtle background noise, the room almost felt too quiet, weirdly. I have a really hard time falling asleep even with just the slight sound of a TV on/people talking in the distance, and especially any kind of high pitched noise. The sound of this air purifier running on its lowest setting is just this cozy, soothing low pitched sound. Again, sounds like it's midly raining or mildly windy outside. I like it. I definitely recommend this product. Over 1 year later with it on 24/7 and it's still brand new and still sounds just as quiet.

What if a room is 30 m2? Will it do the job but taking more time or does one need to buy 4 of these? (of course one can buy a different, big air purifier. The point of the question is what the particular one can do in bigger rooms. 7m2 is a tiny room. Not even a regular bedroom...)

I recommend getting a much larger air purifier. This one is, I'm afraid, insufficient for such a job. Also, you may need to put an air purifier in every room; there isn't a device that can clean the air throughout the house.

How to turn the red light off.

The red light is telling you that it's time for you to swap the filter, you can buy a new one off IKEA, it's cheap. Just search for Uppatvind filter. If you want to turn the light off though I think you can remove the filter and there's a button in there that turns it off, it basically resets the timer which is probably like around 6 months or so, which I think is how long the filter is supposed to last
