Hello everyone! I have some information here that I forgot to put into the video + extra info: ~ I have all the patterns written in the description!!!! ~Sorry for a lot of it being out of focus, for some reason while i’m filming it looks like it’s in focus but then when I go to edit, it’s completely blurry. I’ll try to be extra careful in future videos ~ Again, my head circumference is 21 ½ inches (55cm), and my hat length is 8 inches (20cm). The hats may come out looser than usual if you’re following the tutorials to a T, due to me enjoying a looser fit hat so I can fit it over my hair when it’s not braided. ~ I use a 5mm hook for everything. For the chunky cat beanie, I used a 10mm hook. The yarn used for everything is in the description. I didn’t link the colors though (besides the chunky cat beanie) because a lot of the yarn I have is pretty old and I’m not sure what colors they are exactly. I only used one skein of yarn for everything, however I did run out of yarn for the balaclava and the chunky cat beanie so I recommend you buy two skeins for those specific projects. ~ For the beanie, it’s a total of 50 rows. ~ For the magic circle beanie, it’s a total of 19 rows ~ For the balaclava, it’s a total of 25 rows ~ For the cat beanie, it’s a total of 17 rows ~ For the beret, it’s a total of 20 rows ~ For the beret the measurements are as follows: The top of the beret after doing the increases should be 11 ½ inches. The body of the beret, which is the two rows of crocheting with no increases should be 2 ½ inches. The ribbing (the decreases) is 1 ½ inches - making the total hat circumference 23 inches ~ Thank you for watching and supporting me, it’s appreciated way more than you know 🥺🥺🥺🥺

Ummm i love the tutorial so much, thank you for making it, but I'm having a problem with the increases of the beret because for each row i inrease, the top half starts to feel wobbly and it doesn't have the hat-like shape like yours, so it's kinda flat. I'm using half double crochet because of my wool type, so could you please help me out here?

23:33 the small loop is actually the slip stitch you made to join the round so by increasing in it you're ending up with more stitches than you should. In this case it doesn't really matter but if you're making a cylinder for example (amigurumi legs, arms) you'll be adding 1 stitch each round so instead of being a straight cylinder it'll flare out progressively. This is just info I don't intend to critique the video, in fact I liked it very much

keep trying! another way i’ve heard that’s easier is if you chain 4, slip stitch into the first chain, and then chain 3 in the middle of the circle you just created and start adding double crochets into that same circle. try that and see if it helps

18:08 • as far as this method of making the cat beanie, if working in multiple colours back and forth like this, ive personally preferred to just drop the yarn i’m switching from (aka i don’t cut the yarn during the process of making the hat until the very end), as this results in less tails to weave in!! ^^ also, i just wanna say thank you so so so much for this video ;; ,,, it’s so informative and well-structured!!!

If you want a less loose beret here’s a vague pattern! Magic circle 6 single crochets Increase x6 1sc & inc 2sc & inc 3sc & inc Repeat until circumference of the top of you head (eg. 4sc inc and so on) 3 rows of sc (no increases) Sc the number of stitches you had between your increases eg. 18 sc then inc ➡️18sc then decrease Repeat until you have around half of the number of stitches you had between the last increase rows eg 18sc then dec stop at 9sc then dec 1 normal row of sc (no increases or decreases) Slip stitch to join the fasten off! Note: don’t join with a slip stitch after every round, instead work in a spiral and mark the first stitch of every round!

(me commenting so late! im new to this channel tho only watched my first video like a week ago) something i noticed is that after you measure your head circumference and subtract a few inches you might want to add a chain or two because when you slip stitch it you can lose a round or two in hat circumference

hi! i’ve just recently discovered your channel, and i’m absolutely loving your content so far. i was planning on making the beret in this video, and i was wondering if you had a written pattern for the second beret showed (the one under “other variations”?) is it just a difference in the ribbing? i’ve been experimenting with berets lately and i feel like that style would suit me best out of all the beret patterns i’ve tried. if it’s too much work to try and write out the pattern from scratch, that’s alright! tysm for making such good content

im a bit confused with the beret part. after 11 rows, you said to do a double crochet in each stitch for 2 rows, (making it 13 row) then at row 14 you say to do a decrease every 9th stitch then you show pic @ 30:52 demonstrating that there's supposed to be a decrease on the 12th and 13th.

row 12 and 13 you do not increases or decreases, and then start doing the decreases on row 14, yes

what i dont understand is 22 1/2 or 18" for the normal beanie, is your circumference but when you make the 46 chain isn't it the length of the beanie and not the circumference... didn't we measure seperately for the length from top of the head to below our ear?
@nitedread25472 жыл бұрын
I’m so confused about this too. I made the beanie using the circumference of my head, but shaved off a few inches and it’s WAY too big. I really have no idea how to fix it. R we just supposed to measure like half of our head then chain that amount?
@sleepylev Жыл бұрын
@@nitedread2547 i’m confused about this as well :((( i’m thinking that a possible way to go about this is making the chain the length you want the beanie to be, and then you just make however many rows you need for the circumference of you head…? that’s the method i’ll be trying out, at least ! i wish you both the best of luck ;;

Hey I have some left over plush yarn in pretty much the exact same colour as what you made the bear beanie in from when I failed a making a teddy bear. I spent so much money on the yarn but I jsut can’t make it work for a teddy so I think that beanie will be great. I’m jsut a bit confused as too how to combine the brain method with the synching ears method. I doesn’t look like you half double crocheted into the back loops so I’m wondering what stitch you found worked best
