Where's the beer tent... lol. Got your priorities in order lol. This is about as wet as when I visited Fort Nelson the other day. If you haven't been there you should check it out. It's free entry too.

The Hawker Hurricane I, code DT-A, is in the markings of Battle Of Britain ace Robert Stanford Tuck. The Spitfire IX, next to it, code JE-J, is in the markings of fighter ace Johnny Edgar Johnson. This is the plane a million Airfix Spitfires were based on.

Awesome :) I was as the WaPR 2017 on the Saturday. The weather held out right till around 3:50. The main re-enactment in the arena was awesome. My 4th year of going :) Glad its returned to Hop Farm as it is almost an hour closer to our home :D

As I said Ian, the tank engine is a Meteor, poor cousin of the Rolls Royce Merlin.... which you heard singing above you in the Spitfire..... that Meteor on the other hand was running very rough..... maybe the reason it's up for sale? As for fitting into a Transit.... it could be done but would not be cheap..... but.... Chris's Transit could pull a trailer with one fitted so you could take it around the shows.......and make some noise!
@AverageJoe20207 жыл бұрын
Yes, The Meteor was only running on 10 at most, hence the bloke checking exhaust manifold temps. with the thermometer, lots of valve train noise aswell?.

I can't believe I missed meeting you this year, I'm in the video at 10:30 opposite you while you're filming the us coming out of the arena after the battle, my brother had just been in the reenactment, I was in the one the day before. Come and find the A.M.P.S (Allied military vehicle preservation society) next year and have a beer with us in our bar. Keep up the good work.

The tank full of shell holes and shrapnel scars is a very rare Canadian Ram tank. It's unusual to see one with a turret. Most had the turrets removed, and were used after D-Day as armoured personnel carriers. For some reason, they were then known as 'Ram Kangaroos'.

To think I may have started all this. I organized the 1st WWII reenactment in May of 1975 and was the founder of the WWIIHRS, Inc. in the USA. You can read about it in my book, A BRIDGE TO TIME, which is available through Amazon. I'll be at our big reenactment in Rockford, IL at Midway Village Museum in Sept. autographing copies. Look for me in the Red Barn. I was 25 when I put that first one on and I'm still at it but I've promoted myself to a Brigadier in the Canadian Army. I often act as Prime Minister Churchill's aide and driver. Terry, St. Louis, MO; USA

Did you know that the tank you saw inside of with the bullet holes was actually used in a firing range and when I went to the War and Peace Revival I was lucky enough to see it running and driving about. I wish I saw you there but sadly I believe we went on different days.

that tank with all the holes in it is a Ram2. A Canadian tank based on the m3 lee. After the war they were given to any county that wanted them. Most ww2 tanks when they were no longer need they were scraped. In the case of this one put on a target range and shot at.
@seranubis43037 жыл бұрын
tyler kent ummm no it wasn't scraped it was scrapped and it not base the m3 it base on the Sherman

Ram2 was a cruiser tank designed and built by Canada in the Second World War, based on the U.S. M3 Medium tank. The Grizzly1 was a Canadian-built M4A1 Sherman tank with some modifications.
