When shooting with the Japanese kimono (Wafuku), in order not to ruin it and it does not interfere with the shot, men take off the sleeve of his left arm. The women instead use a ribbon to tie the sleeves.

It is because life has no goal, it is a process. And so is Kyudo.

Sakiyama Sensei , introduced me with 10 intensive private lessons, while I was in Naha...my first month of practice , and almost 1000 arrows fired, my life has irrevocably changed forever....my karate and kobudo improved . The way of the Bow....wow!

Cause this isn't archery; it's meditation.

It's a martial art, not meditation. The ritual and discipline helps you focus 100% on the pure process of sending an arrow to its target, as mental discipline is incredibly important for accurate shooting. This is something that every archer appreciates, even non-Kyudo archers.

It's not about hitting the target, it's about practicing the mind, the target is not important.

I'm not sure, but there is a specific balance to the limbs. It's possible for one limb to be strong and the other to be weak (relatively), or the grip area itself could be weak (this leads to a more semi-circular shape). I should mention that they aren't actually separate limbs. Search for "Jaap Koppedrayer" on youtube. I went to one of his bow-making seminars, and the bow is made of full length slats set to a very specific curvature.

This demonstration is a full formal offering in the presence of deity. Same as drinking a cup of tea takes long time in Sado.

Why did the archer in back tie a white sash around their shoulders? It didn't look like their robe interfered all that much.

I have a question, Does the Yumi´s limbs have equal power down and up from the arrowpoint, or is the upper limb stronger?

Maybe cause shooting an arrow ain't primary objective of kyudo. :)

After such a ritual I would expect their aim is perfect.. but they don't show the targets T_T!

You can hear the arrow hits the paper of the target like playing a drum.
