This was a player playable plane in Battle Stations Pacific. There was an achievement if you managed to safely land it. This was tricky as the only "safe" landing zones were on the leeward sides of ships & islands, otherwise the pane would catch a wave and flip.

If i'm not mistaken, it was one of these types that damaged Joe Foss' aircraft so badly that he had to bail out eventually. He DID shoot the F1M down first.

The F1M "Pete" was a player flyable in Battle Stations Pacific game. It could drop bombs or depth charges in the game.

Those were "Ruth/Rufe" float plane fighters which were based on the A6M "Zero".

What version of 1946 is this? it looks nothing like my std IL2 Ultimate Edition using the updated 4.13.4 patch nor can I recall it looking like that in the old std updated patch version I had of IL21946. a few years back. Which begs the question, what is better to run, IL2 Sturmovik Ultimate Edition (which includes IL2 1946) or the previous release of IL2 1946?

Towards the end of the war, they were sent on one way trips, the fleet would not bother to stop to retrieve float planes they sent out on recce missions.
