Videos like these are pure gold! It helps new and intermediate pilots a lot. Thanks for doing this! please keep making videos like this one!!

Thanks for the kind words. Novice and intermediate pilots are exactly who I make these for, so it's nice to know it helps. I try to make the kinds of videos I wish I'd had access to when I was learning. I don't get a lot of time during the week to fly these days, but if you have anything in particular you'd like to see please let me know and I'll see if I can manage it.

Exactly what he said!! So good to get into an advanced pilots head and "see" your decision making process. The continual comparison of relative energy states, and seeing what it looks like is what hooked me. Thank you!!

Totally agree with the previous 2 commenters. Many thanks chum.

glad to see the Focke-Wulf 19OA-5 demonstrating combat maneuvers - excellent flying - excellent video~

That was quite amazing. The way you precisely control your plane and the fact that you're able to spot them from this far off, is very impressive (as someone who just starts playing War Thunder Sim).

a pleasure to see a gent flying in such precision and ease the mighty FW!

I’ve only come across your videos today and they’re really helpful to a relative rookie like me. I mostly fly Brit planes but several of your videos apply nonetheless. Work + family = very little free time to make videos but hopefully we’ll see more content from you in the future.

Yep , 190 A has superb roll rate and yes , you can extend away from Yak-1's and Hurricanes especially at altitude , So can the BF-109-F with it's excellent speed retention .

Fantastic video. I have a lot of trouble using roll rate to my advantage; this helps! Thanks!!

You made mistakes but still one of the best demonstrations I have seen of how to use scissors and particularly how to get away from a Yak behind your 190.

There's a lot of 'rolling around a central axis' going on here which is of very limited utility. When you get one of these ass-wipes on your tail try pulling him into a modest high speed turn before suddenly reversing your lift vector, then applying some positive elevator. If done properly it's very difficult to follow.

Appreciate the explanation, diagrams, etc. The other Messerschmitt/Focke Wulf advantage is dive speed, but here I would guess you did not have enough altitude to pull that trick. Plus if they are within firing range it does not get you out of the way.

I was only about 2500 metres or so in this video, and they came in with an energy advantage.

Hello, informative videos, thanks. You said something interesting at the end, your A5 can outclimb the yak1b if you keep your speed up? I struggle in the 190 and always feel im in the inferior plane againt the yaks, they can even follow me in dives and hit me from 500-600m. The climbrate for the yak1b is 17ms and fw around 15-16ms or was that for combat power and not emergency, i dont remember. I feel much more secure in the 109 f-4 or g-2 but i like the fw better. Im always confident that i can outclimb in the g-2 with the 21ms climbrate, although the yaks can follow and yak copter on their flaps and hit you. i think hanging on the prop like that full power and no airflow would burn the engine, but i have stopped making such steep climb angels now.
@na8517 жыл бұрын
Not by much, but a little bit, yes. The climb rates you see quoted are for low speed climbs. In a very fast, shallow angle climb you will pull away slowly

Do you have a harder time with puĺling a scissor maneuver after the last flight model update with the 190s
@na8516 жыл бұрын
I was one of the author's of a report demonstrating to the developers that they had the 190 lift coefficient incorrect. After they corrected it I find the 190 perfectly flyable.

Great video, thank you for sharing! What is your computer specs and flight stick? Are you using rudder pedals?
@na8517 жыл бұрын
Thiago Luiz I'm flying with CH pedals and an x52 pro. I want to replace the stick because I don't like it. My computer is an i7 with 8GB of memory and an Rx 480 gpu
