They're not just forcing the parent company to suck up to Israel, they're dragging Ben and Jerry's brand integrity through the mud. We should boycott Ben and Jerry's so that they can show harm to the brand in the lawsuit due to Unilever's stupendously stupid deal where they give use of Ben and Jerry's branding and copyrights to a Jewish company selling in the occupied territories. Should only start eating it again if there the decision is in Ben and Jerry's favor over Unilever. Pisses me off... also because Unilever owns Breyer's so I'm not having any of that either, so I'm doubly deprived of ice cream and doubly pissed with Unilever. @michaelk.jensen16112 жыл бұрын
Whats nonsense about that, it was a protest slogan, by people expressing that now the problems has exceeded our tolerance completely and WE WILL DO SOMETHING TO FIX IT!. Did yo listen to some of the community members talking about what was behind this idea. Like removing some jobs from the police over to social services and invest in community places. And also fix the reliance on only increasing the budget for police instead of using the budget to address the root causes?
@mikemorenilla74442 жыл бұрын
"protest slogan"? like "lock her up"? If you're saying it's a phrase without content, then I have no problem with it. It's a shame that the people who actually live in high crime areas want MORE cops in their neighborhoods. Only wealthy, white performative virtue signalers still use that phrase with any seriousness.
@michaelk.jensen16112 жыл бұрын
@@mikemorenilla7444 Yes they want more cops at least some people do which is fine, but again i am and the people with that slogan was campaigning for treating the root causes that creates crime, for improving the communities. Increasing the police presence is a natural thing to think, but the police budgets in many cities has grown year by year and not solved the issues. So yes policing and cops are needed, but thats a short terme solution . The long term solution is to trest the root causes and if you try to find some interviews with community leaders, they will explain with budget forecasts and detailed programs what it is they are trying to do locally. Those saying defund the police often also talked about the militarization of the police the weapons and equipment the buy, that are military type equipment and is not a good match for the policing function. We also want longer educations for police officers and psychological followups and routine health and mental health evaluations, because there can be very stressful experiences, thats the opposite of taking resources away, but we believe it will have an impact with better policing and not just more policing.
