I once rented a house that had a lockable wardrobe with a large safe in it, I already had a small safe so I put that safe in the bigger safe and the key to the wardrobe in a puzzle box. I'll be damned if anyone is stealing my spare car key! (Even I couldn't be bothered to open that safe).

That would be funny. A burgler breaks in. There's a room full of portraits. They take a moment, trying to figure out which one has the safe. Yes! It took a minute to get there, but they find it. Several more minutes to get the safe open, and what's inside? Just a note: wrong one. They slowly realize every picture has a safe behind it, just as the flashing blue & red lights appear through the window.

Actually that beeping is pure genius!!!! It keeps catching the person off guard while trying to figure out the secret so eventually they will say screw it and leave it alone as they know that sound will wake you up. I bet it would also deter them as well and may leave the place thinking they woke the person up

Ok now this is interesting since it allows you to get creative on where to hide things with a safe. Also if you’re gonna do this, other than making sure that safe is secure in a location where it can’t be found & that it can’t be potential stolen. You might wanna support the safe from underneath since the weight of the objects in the safe can bear down on it over time & it can fall down. Supporting the safe may depend on where you have located in your particular home.

As soon as he said the combination was nerdy, i thought 1,2,3,4,5, which is amazing, because I have the same combination on my luggage. Then he limited it to 4 digits though, and I was thinking 1337. I've actually been debating making a secure wall-box with a mirror built into it, but where the pane slides down, along with the the bottom-section of the frame, along drawer-slides, when you release the magnetic latch. I wanted to make one like the one Brad Pitt's character has in the bathroom with the battleship picture in Mr and Mrs Smith..
