It's important to bear in mind that there was NO such thing as a unified Blitzkrieg doctrine or plan. It was the opportune outcome of a combination of decentralized strategies including armored pushes, paratroopers, heavy machine gun use, and medium tactical bombing - all of which proved to be insufficient and obsolete within just 5 years.
@bryanbarcelo5440
@bryanbarcelo5440 4 жыл бұрын
"obsolete in just 5 years" not really, no, not when it was just one nation using that tactic when fighting the organized armies of 5+ others. considering how much of a hard time they gave them and how fast for its time they conquered, i'd say they gave a pretty good account, despite losing in the end. Blitztkrieg is overrated, but it was in no way ineffective for the start of any campaign
@thebravegallade731
@thebravegallade731 4 жыл бұрын
@@bryanbarcelo5440 basically, there is a time for decentralised operations and times for centralised ones. that being said, nazi germany's chain of command becoming more and more centralized make them less and less effective as the war went on. plus yeah, if there was ONE less great power they were fighting they would have had a decent chance of winning. the USSR AND the americans AND the french AND the british...? the germans, in the contested #2 spot(with USSR) was fighting the #1(US), #2(USSR),#4(Britan), #5(France) great powers by itself, with only 2 other reigioal powers in italy austria and japan on thier side. and yet they kind of held their own for 3 years and made them pay in blood for the last 18 months even at a serious disadvantage.
@bryanbarcelo5440
@bryanbarcelo5440 4 жыл бұрын
@@thebravegallade731 actually the US wasn't that great back then, they only got to churn out great quantities of troops during the war, they didn't have much before it and their equipment was decent. in my opinion Germany was easily the #1 spot, followed by #2 USSR, #3 US, #4 Britain, and #5 being Britain's allies, India, Canada, Australia among others. France relied too much on the maginot line, and still treated what few, obsolete tanks they had as infantry support rather than armoured brigades

Ironically, Mike Tyson failing to have a game plan or strategy he lost his biggest fights. Ie Buster Douglass, Evandar Holifield and Lennox Lewis, That quote can be debunked in so many ways to a student of the sport that it’s quite laughable, especially being as though Floyd Mayweather was hit by a big shot by Shane Mosley, recovered then dominated the rest of the fight. His trainer at the time Roger Mayweather advised him to get back to the game plan and that’s when he won the rest of the fight, most of Floyd Mayweather fights versus big punchers he had a game plan and always executed it and won obviously being 50-0.strategy is key which is why you should always have back up plans as well.

@@hiramabifffromsirius146 Sounds to me like he was saying that weed was his coping mechanism and so long as he had that he had no reason to take on personal responsibility and improve his life. Tons of people use weed as a crutch to make it through each day because they lack personal and mental fortitude. Weed isn't a bad thing in moderation, but like all things you can get addicted to it to the point where it impacts your life negatively. You need clarity, presence, a sense of urgency and control over emotions. As you go about strategically planning the next weeks, months and years of your life let me share some thoughts from Jordan Peterson on heros and the dominance hierarchy. "The big hero is the person who goes out and slays the dragon, gets the gold, brings it back to the community and distributes it. He's also the person most likely to go up the dominance hierarchy. He's the person most likely to find the virgin, because it's a virgin that you free from the dragon and you get to claim her. The dominance hierarchy is a mechanism mediated by female choice, that selects heros and then breeds them. We watch that for 6 million years. We start to understand what it means to be the hero. We start to tell stories about that and so not only are we genetically aiming at that, but our stories are trying to push us in that direction. Then we say "Look, that person's admirable." Tell a story about him. At the same time we talk about the people who aren't admirable. We have the admirable and non-admirable as categories and out of that you get something like good and evil. Then you can start to imagine the perfect person. You'd take 10 people who are admirable and pull out someone who is meta-admirable *and that's a hero.* That becomes a religious figure across time, that becomes a savior, a messiah, as we conceptualize what the ideal person is." Will others be inspired to write stories of you and your admirable character traits? *It's the closest Achilles got to immortality.* *Subscribe 💪* bit.ly/illacertus - Watch the *3h version with more in-depth* explanations at kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4qyomiPbtakp9U - *Get one FREE audiobook on Audible* amzn.to/3pSSZqe - *Access the full archive for 7$ & download exclusive content* at gumroad.com/l/illacertus - *Buy The 48 Laws of Power on Amazon* amzn.to/3WcibEm - *Try Prime Video for 30 days free of charge* watching historical TV shows I recommend such as *Vikings, The Tudors and the Medici* at amzn.to/3IkwdOs

ive been studying a lot of chess in my spare time (it keeps my brain involved but is more gamelike than studying pharmacology and pharmacotherapy) and I think a lot of these can be applied to chess 2) playing main lines makes it easy for your opponent to have preparation against your game. 3) This one feels obvious for anyone who has had their king surrounded by a queen, knight, and rook, only to find an unguarded forced mate or cheeky back-rank mate. when your back is against the wall, take a deep breath and look for the best move. 4) play every game for the mate. 5) GM Daniel Nardiowsky will tell you to always question your presuppositions about what moves you "can" and "cant" make. then again, GM Ben Feingold will tell you to always retreat, so maybe the answer is somewhere in between 6) it's important to know when to fight on the queenside, when to break in the middle, and when to push on the kingside 8) pawn-grabbing can get you trapped. 9) even from a losing position, you can find a win by exploiting an aggressor's overextension 10) use the momentum to keep your opponent on their back feet. you being more active will force them to be more passive. 11) space for time is basically how you play most black defenses. 12) sacrifices and gambits can be devastating 13) preparation. I have a friend who always plays the london as white and the closed sicilian as black. I have gotten very good at lines against the london and the grand prix against the closed sicillian 14) gambits 15) always be in control of the action on the chess board. zugzwang is literally a chess term 16) target weaknesses in your opponent's positions and let it unravel before you 17) draw/push their peices to one side, then break open the other 18) again, know the weaknesses in your opponent's position and apply pressure until they crack. 19) mating nets 20) this is basically the point of chess 21) dont offer a draw when you're down 5 points and looking down the barrel of a mate in 5. 22) convert winning positions 23) draw your opponent's focus to one side, then strike on the other while they're in auto-pilot: you might catch them hanging a piece 24) again, playing non-main lines will catch your opponent unprepared more often than playing the clean main line 26) dont overextend and create weaknesses in your own position 28) let your opponent overextend and crash upon your stronger defenses. 29) sometimes settling for a free minor piece or stronger position is better than chasing the king or queen around the board and creating weaknesses in your own position 30) penetrate their defenses. be annoying. it will cause your opponent to make mistakes 32) sometimes it's best to draw back and prepare for a cheeky tactic 33) watch your opponent's position unravel after taking a crucial weak pawn that defended a knight that defended a bishop that was holding a safe spot for the queen.

Nice one, for mentioning Grandmaster Bokuden! His art/style of swordsmanship is legendary, it was called "Mutekatsu Ryu". After, more than a decade of studies & practice on this material, I actually applied it to my own techniques and understanding of swordsmanship, which I call "Katsujin-Ken Mutekatsu-Ryu" - "The Movement-art of the life-giving Sword" Because, a real sword master defeats his opponents without using the sword. And if he does not use the sword, it gives life to man."

When you put Leonidas command and effort as a Pyrrhic victory you fail to mention that Leonidas was essential to level up the morale of the greeks since a lot of corrupt greek politicians were purchased by the persian gold. Leonidas role in Thermopylae was crucial to ignite the spark of a joint effort in the greeks... and to victory of the greek cause in the end of the greek-persian war.
