Thank you for that sermon. I've been reading through the old testament and thinking about the "how" behind God's discipline. A lot of people talk about the why but not enough on How. This Christian walk has not been easy but thank God he's in control and knows what's best for me 🙏🏾

And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.” - Hebrews 12:5-6

The good news. Hebrews 13:5 For he hath said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU, Ephesians 1:13-14. In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, (1st Corinthians 15:1-4) in whom also AFTER ye believed, (not before, but after) ye were sealed by that Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 4:30. And grieve not the Holy Spirit in whom ye are SEALED unto the day of redemption. The Rapture of the church. Romans 8:9. Without the Spirit there is no salvation. With the Spirit we have eternal life through His name. Born again by the Spirit of God. But now, we have 2 natures. The new birth did nothing for our first birth. The new birth did not eradicate our first birth which still loves sin. The new man and the old man. The new man cannot sin. First John 3:9. The Holy Spirit that lives in the believer. The old man still does. First John 1:8. IF we say we have no sin, we are DECEIVED, and the TRUTH is not in us. We will have our old sinful nature with us till we die and receive our new sinless bodies at the resurrection. Romans 7. Paul said he was yet carnal. He had sins of omission and sins of commission. But Romans 8. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Jesus paid our sin debt in full so we can never be condemned again. John 3:18.
