Great video! This is basically my go to on the Prairie Path. Same route. Enjoy the weather!

Thanks for the kind words! The Prairie Path is a great trail in Illinois! If you haven't checked out some of the other big trails in the area, (Fox River Trail, Prairie Trail, Millennium Trail) I recommend those as well!

@@Cynical_Zombie ill definitely look into those! Thanks And enjoy this amazing weather Broski

Got lost on butterfield ave lol , head to turn back to salt ccreek back to la grange, a great & very informative video , I’ll just take it by maywood by the court to Wheaton & back to maywood & head home to Berwyn, happy 4 of July , this video helped out a lot & explore , also have you done the des plaines river trail , that’s my next adventure, thanks 🙏

I’m glad the video was useful! I have 2 videos covering the entirety of the Des Plaines River Trail in Lake County. The Lake County portion is the best portion of the trail. I’ve explored south into Cook County to Allison Woods where the trail goes from great to crap. (Lake County loves their trail, Cook County could not care less) I will finish this trail this year but it will be more about checking it off of my list rather than riding a trail I’ll enjoy. Let me know what section you ride and how you like it!

I have biked all the way to Wheaton from Villa park to mile marker 0. The farthest east I’ve gone is Bellwood right where butterfield is. I want to bike the entirety of the main stem and I know I will. It is beautiful. I also just realized that I biked down to Wheaton around the same time you did in this video.
@Cynical_Zombie Жыл бұрын
Nice! Are you in the video? The Main Stem is a decent ride... once you pass the tollway going East be careful but during the day the ride seemed safe the 2 times I've done it.

It’s to fast to tell if I’m in the video but I remember the tent And the construction in Glenn Ellyn and Wheaton. I stopped at subway for lunch that day. Also just today I biked town to Mannheim but didn’t cross it.

Tantos recuerdos ...

No hablo español, utilicé Apple Translator. Espero que haya hecho un buen trabajo.
@temocua102 жыл бұрын
@@Cynical_Zombie yes I did ride the whole prairie system and more before smartphones 15 years ago and before. Thanks for the answer. Keep riding and enjoying your rides, summer time is coming and It Is going to get much better.

Back in the 80s I remember getting to manhiem and it was all old railroad tracks still instead of a path the rest of the way
@Cynical_Zombie2 жыл бұрын
Nice! Where was the furthest East you were able to go back then?
@robertpreston22202 жыл бұрын
@@Cynical_Zombie The actual path ended at Butterfield road. Then I walked on the old railroad tracks through Bellwood and eventually just made my way to the CTA el terminal in Forest Park and took that to the city and made a day of it

Nice! I wish they could figure out a way to extend the Main Stem to the Chicago Lakefront trail somehow.
