My husband and I backed this on KS, and we love it. I’ve played it with my sister and her family and my game group. This seems to be an instant hit with everyone I’ve played it with. If you like games like Scrabble, Boggle, Wordle and Paperback you’re definitely going to love Illiterati.

I'm really enjoying this one. Don't know about the retail edition but the clacky tiles in the deluxe are soooooo satisfying to rummage😂

I organize a word games meetup group. Five of us got together privately this week to play this game. Thank you for showing that you start the game off with 12 letters. The set up said five to start but the rules specified seven per round. We did not realize there was the 5, plus 7 more, at the beginning, Almost every word game requires house rules to make the game more playable. This is not one of those beautiful exceptions. First off, get rid of the second bag and just use a dice tray or box top, like in every other game. No one could remember which bag was the draw and which bag was the discard a few minutes into the game. Second, which we did not try but I would like to try this the next time I play: unless you are playing their competitive variant, which we did not explore and which took up some of the space at the back of the rulebook, I would ratchet the difficulty up to the highest level and get rid of the timer completely. That way, you fix the problem of the person like me who speaks up a lot and the people that you still want to play with in future and not put off. I think the timer would work very well in the solo variant of the game, but for the purpose of a co-op, it was counterproductive to the intent of the game, which is to cosolve a puzzle. We don't use timers in other co-op word games like Just One or Letter Jam or Cross Clues.

I have a lot of fun with this game, a bit more casual but also allows people not as good at word games to be helped by people who are.

It is a great game, can be group dependent, but it takes a common theme and adds a exciting level of strategy and planning to enhance.

So the only thing that regulates having enough vowels and symbols are their frequency in the bag? But the need for 'zero letters in the library' feels like it needs another regulation ability... Surely not all draws will accomplish 'zero letters left over'... Even if you're a computer. No?

Is there a UK version? As in the example it says things smaller than a dime? I wouldn't know how big a dime is, but would guess about size of 10p?

"In the future people are stopping us to read books"... "made-up theme"... without getting into a political discussion... well it's happening in the present 😅

This overview seems like you are rushing through it, speaking very fast and throwing out a lot of stuff it makes a bit hard to follow. Really like this game.

Seemed normal to me. People tend to have short attention spans, so its probably good so people stay to watch the entire video.
