Putting it all together, it sounds like HOP would've been a better movie if Fred was canned and it was a parody spy movie about the Pink Berets hunting down the Easter Bunny after Papa Bunny dies or becomes ill leaving Carlos to run the factory only for the twist to be that the Easter Bunny is some shmuck who genuinely doesn't want the job but is a good drummer, ending with Carlos becoming the first chicken bunny because he is good at his job.

SaintSentry I can understand what his father did, really. When I was 6 we went to a ranch to get a goat. The next day, while it was snowing outside, my parents were skinning and basically breaking down the goat alive yet (I think) paralyzed, from the outside to it's insides, who was hanging from a tree with rope around it's hind hoofs. It didn't matter that my friends and I were 6, they just did it and soon we ate it. At least they didn't wrap it and put it in the fridge, ew.

I agree, even seeing footage of the Pink Berets just makes me wish they gotten there own film fully animated let alone a spin-off film and completely removing the other characters and the Easter elements and having no relation to the original film the trio debuted came from with a better director. The Pink Berets are the only characters from HOP that I actually liked and enjoyed since the other characters were boring. I was actually rotting for the Pink Berets more than the main characters themselves. I still can't get over how after they are turned into chocolate statues when everything is back to normal. You never see the Pink Berets again or see them recover from their chocolate prison. Any of the scenes featuring the Pink Berets is the only scenes from HOP that I can remember the most. They really deserve they own film considering how cool most of there scenes were. Ilumination needs to think a making a Pink Berets movie in the future and making the film as if the film HOP never existed.

This basically shouldn't have been a live-action/CG blend to begin with. It feels written to be animated, but went with the blend road to cash in on that time's relevant CG critter movies that were making bank. So that's why the live-action feels like an afterthought like the casting of James Marsden and why a lot of the CG looks like a strange in-between of realistic-ish and cartoony like their animated movies. Also in another attempt to equal the other CG critter movies, they farmed the CG out to Rhythm and Hues who normally worked on these kind of movies until they went bankrupt. The one great thing Illumination has done since Hop is that they learnt from this film's mild disappointment and (thus far) stopped doing live-action.

Six years from the future, and Schaffrillas Productions wanted *NO ONE* to watch Hop every Easter, during the final segment of his Illumination ranking. The best thing is the Termina Final Hours theme plays as he rants about Hop for nearly 10 minutes(with the segment's editor completely traumatized). The movie broke James mentally, but not as much as Megamind 2. He also admitted Hop is like The Smurfs movie but without Gargamel whilst mentioning the Sony Pictures Animation ranking. Yes, Hop was that bad it caused the downfall of Illumination after a solid outing like Despicable Me, and caused the studio to abandon live action-animated hybrids.

IronPiedmont1996 Actually, I think it's there to try and liven them up and make everything look more "dynamic." There are plenty of other movies that often have really bland cinematography. Just look at any comedy movie from the past decade not directed by Edgar Wright. The funny thing is this movie's DP, Peter Lyons Collister, actually IS Michael Bay's go-to 2nd Unit DP on most of his movies. I guess he just transplanted all of his crew and equipment over from Transformers and didn't bother to change anything to fit the new genre.

Illumination has got to be the most mediocre animation company out there. Not Blue Sky shit, not Dreamworks shit with a few gold sprinkles, not Pixar (mostly) brilliant, just mediocre and standard beyond belief. They advertise their movies like crazy and build them up as these things to get so hyped over, then you go see them and...meh? I mean I liked Sing but I'm not going to praise it for being unique or groundbreaking and the rest of their films are just stuff we have seen before or a predictable tale with hit or miss jokes that mostly miss.
