Losing weight HEALTHILY is oftentimes a long process, especially if it’s a first-time weight loss attempt. Stubborn areas, like the stomach and thighs want to hold onto fat as long as possible. DON’T GIVE UP!! It will come off, but consistency is key. A lot of fat acceptance ppl think it’s wrong to be uncomfortable so they give up before any real progress is made.

I am not going to lie, this is the only good comment I have seen on this video. I am someone who is overweight, and I am running a mile every day, which I started a few weeks ago, but not much improvement, some improvement, but I know it will take a while to start seeing big improvements.

People today don’t understand natural weight loss or muscle growth because influencers keep lying to their audiences about being natural. To go from overweight to healthy weight can take years considering you’re likely to drop 2 pounds a week if you’re lucky and that’s assuming you’re maxing out your losses.

@@theautisticfloridian291 Keep up the good work. A lot of "weight loss" is actually down to perception. I started jogging daily a few years ago. After about 3 months I was really disheartened that I'd made no noticeable physical progress, until one day I sat down and realised my thighs were stick thin. It's extremely tough to keep going, but it's completely worth it, and the weight loss will come, that's as certain as the laws of physics.

To a point I think I see what she is saying by "Food is just food". A chocolate bar contains sugar that the body needs for energy, and can be as beneficial to eat as a carrot is for that fiber. But the key thing to remember is "MODERATION" when eating that chocolate bar, because too many is what makes them bad for you, unlike the carrot.
@The_Yukki
@The_Yukki 7 ай бұрын
Too much carrots does have negative effects. Especially when they are dodgy sourced since carrots have tendency to just suck up all the garbage from the ground. But even if we assume top quality carrots, overeating them can literally make you orange. Granted that's just cosmetic thing but still a thing. They are also relatively high in sugar as far as veggies go, which is why (ofc depending on a carrot, and how used you are to sweet taste) they are often pretty sweet. Ofc you'd have to eat way more carrots than chocolate to actually see bad effects.

So if your strength increases, but your overall weight stays the same, then you're actually losing more fat than you're gaining in muscles. So she wasnt eating at her maintenance calories, she actually was losing body fat during that time. Which makes it even more ridiculous that she saw that and just gave up anyways after 2 months.

I think the problem with the whole "body positivity" movement is that what they say is usually incomplete. I do think that people should be more loving of their bodies, but I think that problems arise when it's affecting their overall health. You can probably be healthy if you're overweight, but only to a certain extent. If you're so big that you can't even walk, or chairs can't even support your weight, or you have trouble breathing, or you can't find *any* clothes that fit, that is definitely not a healthy way to live. Same applies to being underweight, although there's a smaller margin for that. But still, if you're so thin that you can barely move, have little to no energy, and your bones are practically visible, that is also not a healthy way to be.

The carrot comment is kinda hilarious because it's an easy replacement for junk food. The reason junk food was so addictive to me is because it required no preparation, I could just open a bag of chips and go-to town. Baby carrots are a good replacement for that because they require the same amount of preparation as a bag of chips, and they actually make you feel full. Switching to fruits is 100% healthier than chocolate. (which, btw, is mostly edible wax)

Its so sad to see people saying that being fat is healthy the ammount of people who have died before 40 is sad. Its not healthy and its lazy. Some people have genetic diseases that forces them to be fat and want to be skinny. I have a friend who literally cannot lose weight she has tried everything, i exercised with her every day she always skipped meals and the only thing she did eat otherwise was salads. She eventually got it diagnosed but still her parents always shame her for being at her current weight and there is nothing she can do. These people are lucky they have a choice and still decide to take all the health problems they can get...

I agree that yes in most cases the individual is just lazy. However when people go out of their way to assume or push judgment onto others not knowing their financial situation or personal circumstances it can be very immature and hurtful. After all there are many components towards weight loss and weight gain. And as you did mention some physically cannot lose weight to have diseases however most people forgot about that and instead judge every overweight individual. Just since someone is fat by definition doesn’t make them lazy or unhealthy. It depends on the individuals life choices that you may or may not know

@jhsdfhjvbrhdvlhsza5232 my point is that most people have an option to be skinny and don't take it and later regret it. I understand that some people can't due to the unfortunate culinary state of some countries and how processed everything is. Its hard for some people to afford healthier foods. Normally when someone is fat it has many negative health consequences and its sad to see a mob of people saying that's its ok and say its fat phobic to lose weight pushing people to stay fat and not change. The fat acceptance movement has done more harm than good so far. We have seen many fatfluencers die before 40 yet still people push it so much. I know people who take medication and are fat because of it it doesn't mean they are lazy its out of their control. It's lazy when people push a fat acceptance agenda just to not change to keep eating unhealthy amounts of food and saying its fatphobic to ask them to change.

Except food IS just food and sometimes even "bad" food is good. If you can't eat a healthy, homemade meal for whatever reason (and there are many reasons someone may not be able to), eating a processed burger from McDonalds will still sustain your body. It's better to eat something "bad" for you than to starve yourself. It's okay to eat unhealthy foods in moderation, there are even some benefits to it. Food doesn't just impact our physical bodies, but also our minds. A person who eats only "good" food may be physically more healthy, but if they're constantly obsessing over it and denying themselves anything because they're obsessed with it being a "bad" food, they are not going to be mentally healthy. "Bad" food as a concept is misused a lot, a ton of the foods described this way aren't "bad." They're just not serving the specific purpose the person has in mind.

As a morbidly obese person I gotta say that yes, reality hurts. I remember my mum at some point when I was younger taking me in the kitchen and telling me if I need a psychiatrist before seeing a dietitian. That broke my heart. I just wondered if that was how she saw me what would my friends think? Did they really love me or was it all pity? I was thinking of dieting at some point, even attempted it during junior high. It didn’t last long before my hunger took over me. But I realised I had to come to terms with the fact that I am MORBIDLY obese. Not chubby, not fat, not just obese. It hurt. Sometimes scary thoughts would fill my mind. The amount of times I tried and gave up two days later made me feel unmotivated and more depressed. It took long before actually taking action because admitting something you did wrong is hard. I tried to tell myself that I am not healthy but it is ok since I want to change which is not easy. The quicker you come to terms with that the better. Take your time. Surround yourself with stuff you know will motivate you. Make a program for what you want to eat. And most importantly remember you are a fighter who fights for their own life. I fight alongside you. A lot of people are trying to fight and are fighting alongside you. Do it because you want to and don’t let people get you by saying you are ugly or that it is healthy to be obese It is never too late

Back in 2022, I started a medication to help with some mental health problems that had worsened over time. The medication caused me to gain weight, with my already over-eating habits. I gained excessive weight all the way to May 2023. My mom and I both were very underweight naturally, and soon enough when I got medicated, I hadn’t fit my size medium clothes, and I got to a 3XL. It wasn’t just the meds, I have to take credit where it’s due, I’ve never been an active person, I don’t exercise and overeat. I just had a fast metabolism I got through my genes. Gaining weight caused many health problems including back pain, I ran out of breath easily, it was hard to stand up when sitting on the ground, neck pain, and etc. I’ve been trying to loose weight since May 2023, and I’ve made excellent progress! I started eating smaller portions, drinking more water instead of soda, and I exercise regularly through dance for 30-45 minutes a day. Being overweight can cause many problems physically, back pain, joint pain, and fatigue was the main problems for me personally. This may not be the case for everyone who is overweight, but I’m sure I’m not the only person whose weight has caused physical discomfort and has needed to lose weight because of it. I’m still overweight but I’ve cut my weight down in half since May 2023, losing weight is difficult but there’s no way that being as overweight as I was with the lifestyle I had, was in any way healthy

You should never use weight as a metric for weight loss when you are just slightly overweight. Weighing yourself on the scale is just a way to lose hope and give up, especially if you are gaining muscle. Pay more attention to your appearance and how your clothes fit, and how you feel. Also women have a far harder time losing weight, you can’t just try for 3 months and say “welp I guess this is just my weight.” It took me two whole years to lose 20 pounds, and it’s even harder for me now that I’m down to lose.

But when you look up pictures of her she is genuinely normal looking, she looks fairly slim compared to what she painted herself as in the video. Which im going to go out on a limb and guess that she was never fat to begin with, and that she probably doesnt know what being actually obese is. So she's sending this harmful message that being obese is ok because in her mind she thinks her bodytype is considered obese when its not. I also doubt that she ever hired a actual nutritionist. Even if you can't stand, do something that gets your body moving and burning those calories. Again, being fat isn't just a physical thing, there's a whole brain there that probably isn't functioning well, there's also the issue of society promoting unhealthy eating, you can find a fast food place wherever you look. One of those meals can easily go over 1000 calories and it's consistently shoved in people's faces as an alternative to cooking, again, why take the effort to cook a healthy and fulfilling meal when you can pay a bit to get instant gratification. There's a mind that's damaged and the person is sick yet people are so ready to jump down their throats, call them "lazy" and harrass them for no good reason. Once again, they need therapy, not being looked down on, that's just gonna make it worse.

💀💀 after seeing TBYS videos which was throughly and nicely investigated, this isn’t ’misinformation’ in the slightest

Been seeing a nutritionist and 2 other doctors for half a year (more or less) and I can relate to the feeling of wanting to give up after feeling like there's no progress. I have different conditions that make it hard for me to lose weight, and for many years I've been fluctuating between being 15-20 kg over my "ideal weight" (clinically speaking) but it's so important to NOTICE THE SMALL CHANGES! I struggle with that as well since most of the time I don't wear things that make it easy to notice a change in complexion, but what I do notice is that I sleep better! I walk for longer without getting tired! I can bike for longer and lift up more weight during arm exercises! It may not be reflected on the scale, but I can FEEL the improvement. And only after that, I get the courage to try that shirt that was a bit too small and find out it fits better. It's difficult and slow, but I knew it would be. And if anyone happens to read this and relate to seeing no noticeable changes, please know that consistency IS KEY! Try to think of the small improvements, seek professional help if available. Get medically examined, get tests done, identify if there's other issues or disorders that are maybe making your weight loss journey harder. Once you do, it'll be easier for professionals to know exactly how to help. And most importantly, don't check for daily or even weekly progress. Weigh yourself every 2 weeks or every month. Losing lots of weight super fast isn't always healthy, and if you complement dieting with exercise expect to gain weight in muscle! Going to a nutritionist is great because the scales they use are specifically made to monitor water, fat, and muscle % (even bone density iirc) Sorry for the wall of text, but if my little insight on a personal experience is enough to motivate or help anyone, I'll be happy to have done so 🙌

No, he said doctors specialize in one thing and have relative less information on other things, so obviously a gym bro would have more information than say an eye doctor on nutrition because the gym bro focuses on what he eats and has learned what’s good for building muscle while an eye doctor would just say only eat carrots bc they good for your eyes. I did like her video, because she recognized she was healthy while still having chub. People have belly chub to protect their organs, but she clearly was still self conscious and should have worked on herself more before this video. And I believe she meant if you eat one carrot, it won't change anything, like eating one chocolate, but her wording was also poor. She could have listened to the criticism and learned, or explained better, but no, she sent a crowd. If he ate less sugar when he was younger, his life could have been completely different. The best thing you can do for your health is to moderate what you eat. A lot of people are unknowingly eating more than the recommended amount of sugar every day. You can be addicted to sugar, but people like to pretend like it's not an addiction because you only see the negative side of it several years down the line.
