All of these dramas have proven to me that no one on the internet is capable of telling the whole truth. There are always a few embellishments here and there that put the entire narrative into question when discovered, even if said narrative is mostly true. It makes sorting out the situation as a bystander frustrating and harms victims that actually tell the truth because the public is now trained to immediately be skeptical of their story.

I feel like, on top of those "embellishments", we can't express EVERYTHING that is in our head, no matter how good one might be at communicating. So each person on the planet makes their own assumptions and it will never be crystal clear what is actually happening or how someone is actually feeling. Especially in "drama" situations where everything is told and thought about and then retold... To this, you can add the possibility that some could have used technology to lie or create fake news/proof, which raises the reasons to be suspicious of someone… And with that, sometimes, there are good reasons not to tell everything, -mostly because no one should feel obligated to explain their own privacy, simply for random people on the internet (seriously, these people need to learn to accept that not everything is under their control, if anything, nothing is and it will hurt them and their beloved creators, if they keep getting worried to the point that they would want to invade someone’s rightful privacy)- but saying nothing also will never prove us that the reason is good, so there will always be suspicious people. If we could all just let the people who are actually involved in their own problems, deal with it by themselves with the help that THEY asked for, we would be much less disappointed and people would continue to grow instead of getting canceled everywhere. I’m not trying to apologize for anyone, or take anyone’s defenses, this is just an observation that I made during my life. I don’t like, and I know that I am not the only one to think this, having to “check if the creator is alright” or “if I can continue consuming their content” I actually hate that. The lesser I know the better I live. I wish it were that easy. I am grateful for people who are supporting victims, spreading awareness, wanting to change things.. that’s cool let’s keep doing that. But I don’t like that people invade other’s privacy and look for answers they didn’t get when the two or more party already said their speech and that the rest is, in the worse case, the law’s responsibility, and definitely not the follower’s. -random people who just want to consume good content- It always makes things worse. And that's without accounting for the overly paranoid people who are so sure of what they are seeing but don’t realise that it’s all happening in their brain. So many biases can make everything pointlessly overly complex, when somethings shouldn’t even have been mentioned from the first place. Anyways those are my thoughts, I had to let that out it seems, please don’t feel obligated to read it all x) Good day everyone !

And the only french moderator left (because the other ones left the boat, but that means that ONE person was doing everything) got fired because they talked to the person playing the french egg, after all their unpaid dedication, they got the boot for talking to another person who’s not even a streamer. I still really like the QSMP, and the idea of the project altogether :] Ive gotten to know of so many new creators and them being able to comfortably speak their native language and still chat with eachother is really cool. My biggest applause to the Behind the Curtain modelers, coders, npcs, and admins for all they endless work theyve continuously put in. I look forward to what this project will do next and the many communities theyve yet to introduce (really excited for Filipino rep). It hasnt been a perfect run, but i dont think we should give up on everything because its been difficult. I understand Quackity taking the steps to allow people more qualified to manage Quackity Studios. Dude is 23, never owned a business, never run a server, and is working with many different countries with their own laws and policies. The other stuff? Very unfortunate, but such is life. We dont know any of these people no matter how many hours we tune in to their block adventures, so when allegations or controversies come up we should try to look at the evidence objectively and not set everything on fire as soon as a post is made. But my experience, while pleasant and quite fun, cannot be applied to everyone in the fandom, unfortunately. Much apologies to the foreign communities facing harrassment over cultural difference, something the QSMP was made to help dissolve.

I wish I could view it as that, but the fact that he never even once tried to actually fix the issue makes it real hard for me to do so. The guy had every opportunity to fix the issue as every single volunteer that was wronged and the French union wanted the Qsmp to continue. Quackity simply never responded. If he truly did feel bad about his employees, then he’d try to fix the issues when the opportunity arises, rather than letting everyone forget about the problems.

Just saying, if you're going to make a video about the controversies in a multilingual server, then you should cover everything that happened in every community. The French and the Brazilians faced heavy xenophobic comments from the very start of their involvement in the server. Baghera, a french creator, was bullied off the QSMP elections event by the fan base, people of multiple languages. ForeverPlayer was the first big controversy of the server, when it came out that he had had inappropriate interactions with minor fans in his past, and was then kicked out of the server, but not before his entire family got doxxed and sent death threats to. New fans came across Cellbit's controversy with his ex (whole other can of worms, which was actually not involved with Minecraft) and started attacking him and his girlfriend. Everything got so extreme that he had to finally speak up, 7 years after everything had happened, and posted a PDF containing extreme sensitive information to defend himself. He also was forced to come out as asexual for that same reason. Nearing the carnaval event, the Brazilian fan base shared complaints about it being scheduled at a time when most of the Brazilians creators wouldn't be able to attend. This prompted a wave of hate and xenophobic comments, people throwing slurs and calling them ungrateful, and multiple people attacked were driven to deactivate their accounts. Accounts that attempted to shine a light on the situation received hateful DMs as well, and Quackity's stream addressing the situation only sparked his community to be more hateful.

The weird thing is, I distinctly remember Quackity claimed he was leaving content creation to pursue a legal career after graduating university. Then a year later he's making a Minecraft SMP that he's allegedly putting all of his time and money into, basically trying to catch smoke in a bottle and artificially replicate the Dream SMP in a fraction of the time and with exponentially more monetization. Then a year after THAT, it turns out he's in so far over his head that he's now at risk of being sued for defrauding customers and violating international labor and customs laws. It definitely feels like he was trying to do a blatant cash grab without really understanding why people were so engaged with the project he was attempting to replicate. You could sort of see this in the day following his announcement, as he was going into random minecraft streamers' chats and throwing money at them to try and pressure them into joining his server with pretty mixed results.
@seafoam88456 ай бұрын
Tbh I wouldn't be _that_ surprised if it was a cashgrab, but I don't think this is just him looking for more money. Some part of this is definitely out of passion because if he wanted more money, the easiest thing he could have done is stick with the Dream Team and keep making content with them, then pull the "I didn't know :[[ I'm a college student guys I'm too busy" stunt if it bites him in the ass later
@CaptainBeebi6 ай бұрын
@@seafoam8845 A few issues I see: 1.) He was set to start actually working in the legal field in 2023, even announcing he was leaving MCYT and severely cutting back on his content to focus on his career off-platform. 2.) One thing a lot of QSMP stans try to hide is the fact that Quackity didn't have a full list of streamers ready when Dream made his announcement. If this was actually a passion project, I really doubt he would've waited until after someone else announced a similar project to start looking for people. 3.) From what I've heard from the former admins, Q grabbed the live translation mod on Curseforge as a bandaid fix to compete with Dream having his own in-house translation mod. This has me wondering if QSMP was actually just going to be a spanish/english speaking server like he played on before, and USMP had him freaking out that the more diverse member list would've dwarfed QSMP's relevance.

The problem is that keeping things private is completely different to keeping everything in the dark. In a time where questions and controversy are high, the last thing you wanna do is stay quiet. Yeah, live translation is not a novel concept. You can really thank the development teams who made that possible by creating the actual machine translation models, servers to host them on, and APIs to connect them with apps such as minecraft mods or whatever

You gotta give it to Quackity, he ATTEMPTED to do what Dream does and any other minecrafter does. Unfortunately the minecraft grown ass adult fans are as broken as the League ones. And unfortunately not only he let other people manage it so he can just earn, it's like leaving a group of rabid chimps with knives in a room and expecting them to peel potatoes. Just to come back and see all bloody on the floor with 0 peeled potatoes wondering what happened. Quackity needs to sit his lardass and do work, or just quit. There will be no more Kwebbelkop's.

@@OfficialEdwardNewgate It was because he wanted to be a player and not know lore stuff. And honestly for me it seems like making a movie for example, the creator of a movie sometimes will not be involved in the process or what goes behind the scenes even tho he's the creator, obviously he should have been involved, but he efed up, he's taking accountability and fixing it the way it needs to be. @@e1iza_r21 even movie creators... know about their projects statuses, news, behind the scenes and how it's going. You don't actually finance a project, which was your own idea btw, and let it get built without knowing if the people building it aren't using spatulas instead of hammers. It doesn't work like that. Quackity wanted to earn, that's the bottom line, if he really cared about the idea he would of known at the very least how it was going, which he didn't bother to find out until the backlash happened, prior to it there was quite the time lapse for him to AT LEAST get a memo, a sticky note or something but nah. As if this "idea passion project" is just a facade to earn at the end of the day. Which it is.

@@Max-ej4oh He doesn't even earn anything from the server wdym, he actually loses a lot from it. Like i said, its his first big project, he's bond to making mistakes wich he did big time i'm not denying that and i hold him accountable, but he is fixing it how it should be, not by making twitter threads or anouncing things in twitch when it is always adviced by lawyers not to say anything when legal stuff is behind, and its great he is taking responsibility for his mistake. But people really have becoming so vengative and raged with human mistakes its like nobody can make mistakes anymore (obviously situations like wilbur's don't count because he himself did it for so long and knew he caused pain with no remorse).

I saw a comment here that "people dont respect quackity's personal life and therefore he's shady", like, no? it's because of what a lot of his workers said, y'know? No one gatting paid enough - if even. The Egg actors worked almost 24/7, the french Egg was online most of the day, everyday, writing lore and translating things for twitter. Did she get paid? Well... she didnt, as she said. So yeah, if this isnt shady, oh boy........... I'm from Brazil, I saw everything happening in our comunity too... Xenophobia, death threats, telling them to kys and so on and so on. Basically what happened to Dream, I guess, I saw a lot of similiar things. Eh it’s probably more about Twitch streams and views. The server was getting hella engagement from multiple language communities at its peak. It’s very much not profitable tho with the cost of the language translations. At this point it does lean closer to “passion project” than anything designed to make money. More like a money sink, but one with a pretty admirable goal of uniting communities and languages. Unfortunately that lack of money came at the price of workers.

It kinda depends, because I can tell he made this project with just the pure love of wanting to unite languages across the globe as an inmigrant without expecting anything in exchange but it also did have a huge impact in latin american countries. It literally made a bunch of other content creators lowkey beg to be added to the project too and I saw cosplays and art of the characters EVERYWHERE. I think it could have been highly profitable but the people inside it didn't know where to put the actual money.

Technically, at least for some parts. He wasn’t the one who made people have bad experiences while they were working, except for the fact that the lore writers needed to constantly change the lore because he made lore decisions on stream without telling anyone and the time he made the people who worked on the prison event completely rewrite it the day before the event, but he still had issues, like him seemingly not paying the workers even after saying he would, apparently letting his groomer brother work on the Qsmp, the situation with dream, the fact that he ignored the French union’s attempts at contacting him, and some other issues I’ve probably forgotten. for the case at 15:27, I find the defense of termination to be very lacking. They continuously state that the person has made comments that were unacceptable but, the only proof they deliver for this is what seems like a facebook message made not by the person in question but, by someone they've supposedly talked to. Count them; 0 messages by the person accused of this behaviour are posted as "proof" irregardless of how many times they say they "can". If they really could, they would post these messages and not some 3rd party message as that's not proof. I also think that not paying her/him (idk) for the artwork they made is reprehensible, If someone makes art for you, they work for you, and you actively USE that artwork, payment should not be brought up by the employee*. As someone in a leading role you're expected to not only recognize and hire talent but, also reward it. (not to mention, she asked for work, and they ASKED for them to make a poster. So no, that was not suggested by the person in question, it was a request from their direct superior and should be paid for it. I think it's also an issue that many more apparently shared the view of the work and organization and their response being "If only this was brought up with us!" I work full time and have done so for quite some years now, I've seen comparable situations many times before, and when I say you can be damn sure that they were aware of these issues, you can be damn sure they were aware of these issues. (just doesn't sound so good when you admit to that). When you don't reward your employees for the work they do, you create resentment and as a "Manager" are responsible for the toxic environment that follows. (the toxic environment after all gets created by a disillusioned and pissed of employee).
