@Frommerman2 жыл бұрын
@@_BangDroid_ Chat on anarchy servers like 2b2t is infamously horrific. If they could somehow implement a chat reporter which targeted only fascist monsters, child predators, etc, that would obviously be great for the community, and honestly the world at large. But the system they have spoiled so far instantly mutes you for typing "2900b," or any word which contains the spelling of a banned one like association, a bunch of different actual locations with unfortunate spelling, shitake, etc. And all of this ignores that flat bans on words are both meaningless and counter-productive, as fascist assholes will always just come up with new slurs, and doing this prevents well-intentioned people from explaining to others why we even want to remove words from the lexicon in the first place. The problem isn't the idea of chat reporting and banning. Silencing and deplatforming monsters is always a great idea. The problem is that this is an extraordinarily hard problem which cannot be solved through any algorithmic process short of full general intelligence. Which is why it needs to be left up to communities.

Mud is cool, frogs are cool, ancient cities are cool. There's a lot of great things in 1.19. The fact that we don't get performance updates much on Java is only because they want us to make the jump onto Bedrock where vanilla performance is way better. Sure we who use or make mods and deal with issues ourselves will be fine with Java as it is but given time more and more people will choose Bedrock over Java. From a business standpoint Java is a liability. Microsoft can afford running two release versions of the game at the same time to garner some goodwill from the players in general but some day, when the Java population is small enough it will stop being updated. And when that day comes we will be happy that there is already a thriving modding community who can continue with the unofficial support for java Minecraft So in a long run it's probably a good thing for java that Microsoft is slowly letting it rot already
