Here's the 650hp rpm limited v8 supercars S60 stroked 4.4 to 5.0 series limit. The motor is amazing, Volvo took first place in their debut and took the championship. You would want to talk to Polestar but the engines are still essentially free. kzbin.info/www/bejne/poKyiniEmtR9aaM

Proof is in Japan's "hot version " by best motoring on KZbin the 2 fastest cars on the touge are the Honda s2000 and later ugly model mr2 take your pick 👌🏼👍🏻 Who else love Hot version 🤙🏼🇮🇪🇯🇵👍🏻

I really like the S2000. And a high revving V8 would be mint. Thinking out loud, but is there any decent narrow angle V6s that with a bolt on rotrex and forged internals might get up to the 600hp mark?

I like the S2000 but I have a soft spot for the FD (and if I remember you have one 'laying around' ? ) with the aero kit from RE Amemiya it's a very beautiful car ! the problem is maybe the reliability of the 13B at 600+ (and the 20B isn't cheap ...)

12:05 - the mousetrap thing, no point doing all that when others have already invested their time and money (and it takes a LOT of both), when you don't have any reason to think you've some 'magic' solution no-one else has come up with - jusrt need to follow the logic, rather than the hype and advertising budgets. S2000/2400 is a good choice - as you say, with forced induction you can be looking at a reliable 6-800 hp from a K series.

S2000s handle very well from watching hot version and their tuners challenge. Once I've built my Supra I want to do an MR-S 3.5l turbo v6 build, basically poor man's lotus exige, the engine comes from a Lexus rx350 and they're often used for Hill climb monsters! May struggle with tyres though, they're pretty narrow cars compared with gt3 cars

With the s2000 I would stick to a k24 turbo. Quite cheep and light. V8 would mess up the weight balance and engine issues or failure would get expensive quick.
@hpa1014 жыл бұрын
Yeah even the requirement for pre-heating would be a pain for us, but IndyCar Ilmor V8.....the little irrational kid part of us just wants it haha Realistically the K24 is what will happen though, we just need to do a little more adulting before it's locked in - Taz.

Though many find LS swaps are all too common...one cannot deny the cost vs power vs reliability vs spares quotient. You can source 5.3 liters all day long for $300 US...with unlimited spares. Run stock bottom end with aluminum heads and a good valve train...and you do what the Audi’s etc... for 10% of the cost.

As much as I love the S2k but it just too small for what you are trying to do, and that Voltex kit will cost a fourtune to buy or to replace. Why not just replace the s2k chassis with a more aerodynamic and still great chassis like the Corvette C6? It seems to be a better fit with the rest of your needs (engine/tire size/cheap available parts)
@rileylilwell52014 жыл бұрын

It’s very hard to beat the economics of a out of spec NASCAR engine. I expect you could get a couple engines from TRD if you stick with a Toyota brand car. The NASCAR engine will give you 850Hp in a detuned endurance configuration. They do have an iron block, but this could be overlooked due to all of the other positive aspects of this combination.

S2000 will struggle to put 600+hp down, go down the mid engined route. Any Lotus chassis should get it done with a FI K24 and there’s tons of proven aftermarket support especially in Europe. Pratt and Miller went through the same struggles competing against MR GT3 cars with a FR platform and ultimately lost out. S2k will also be at least 200kgs heavier, well built series1 based Elise and Exiges regular come in sub 800kg.

Agreed, perhaps not the exciting unique choice but they just make great track machines. C5, C6, or C7. There's a clean C5 Z06 for sale near me for only 12k US. S2000's seem like a smart choice but in reality they are pretty slow. everything is delicate, upgraded components add weight especially if you're going with a 600hp high reving v8. Stripped out C5/C6 is well under 3000 pounds. huge wheels fit, tons of support and ready made parts; on and on.
@ScottKenny19784 жыл бұрын
3 hours barely counts as an endurance race in my book. That's what, 800km or so? I'd personally want to build a full race FD, probably with a 3-rotor if we're talking naturally aspirated, stick with a 2-rotor for turbo work. You kiwis have a serious set of rotary engine builders in country.
@hpa1014 жыл бұрын
Long enough for us and our budget, but I'm interested to know what length of endurance race/s you've competed in yourself personally Scott? We're not professionals so even an hour at full race pace is quite taxing and different to a cross country drive with the A/C on and the stereo blaring. Solid FD plan too =D - Taz.
@ScottKenny19784 жыл бұрын
@@hpa101 never raced cars, but as the typical 'Murrican I've done a lot of 500mile drives at ... "speeds above the posted limit", shall we say. Usually not grossly over the speed of traffic. How hard a drive seems to depend on how much turning you're doing. Zooming down the mountain roads takes a lot more out of me than the interstate.
@ScottKenny19784 жыл бұрын

Yamaha/Volvo 4.4 liter. Polestar was getting 650hp out of it limited to 7500 rpm. It's 60 degree and very compact. Not to mention, it's less than 1000 bucks for a motor. The 1000 price tag leaves you 19,000 over an ilmor for machining and spares. Veicomer porting is the way to go. You could have two engines and parts for 20k

It not for leaving the rear balance shaft bearing open to the elements it's a work of art, easily capable of 700+ horsepower around 8000rpm with individual itb's
