I think they’ve made love before . Don’t have proof but just from how they behave etc. They’ve had to. But I think for a relationship or marriage where they share their life together everyday and come home together , my feeling or vibe I get is Gillian has wanted that in the past . DD doesn’t want to or is scared or maybe he still has feelings for Tea . I’m not sure
