Campidanese Sardinian is one of the two written standards of the Sardinian language, which is often considered one of the most, if not the most conservative of all the Romance languages. The orthography is based on the spoken dialects of central southern Sardinia, identified by certain attributes which are not found, or found to a lesser degree, among the Sardinian dialects centered on the other written form, Logudorese.
If you are interested to see your native language/dialect be featured here.
Submit your recordings to otipeps24@gmail.com.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

I wonder why Campidanese Sardinian pronounce 4 as cuàturu 5 as cincu while Logudorese Sardinian pronounce it as bàttoro and chimbe. it seem like two Variants having a different evolution to each other Campidanese sound closer to Italian than Logudorese Also I find it very incredible how small island like Sardinia island still contain many different language in one same island we got Alguerés Catalan in Algherese, Corsican language like Gallurese in Gallura and Sassarese language in Sassari both of them Located in northern island area, Logudorese Sardinian in Central island area and Campidanese Sardinian in southern island area and finally Tabarchino Variants of Ligurian language in San Pietro Island and Half of Sant'Antioco island. Sardinian is very amazing place.

Italian is not only spoken in Italy, but there are some unexpected countries where Italian is spoken in the world…. These countries also speak Italian Albania, Argentina, Croatia, Ethiopia, Libya, Romania, Switzerland, Slovenia, and the US. These countries have significant Italian populations. Over half of Argentina’s population is of Italian descent, so some of the people there will mix up Italian and Spanish together. Albania, Croatia, Slovenia, and Switzerland speak Italian because they’re really close to Italy. Romania speaks some Italian because of the similarities between Italian and Romanian. Libya and Ethiopia also speak Italian because they were part in the Italian empire. Italian in the US is spoken in New York, New Jersey, and Boston because of significant Italian populations in those regions.

I took this class on the phonetics of the Iberian languages and we learned some medieval Galician. Outside of those languages Sardinian is probably the closest sounding living language to medieval Galician
@esti-od1mz
@esti-od1mz 10 ай бұрын
Technically not, because galician is inside the continental romance continuum, while sardinian is a stand alone romance language
