Thanks for this one, Captain. Not only is this a great tutorial for the newer Airbus pilots, but there's some really useful information for the more experienced pilots too! New pilots now have a clear and understandable set of tutorials to get then through each phase of a complete flight in an Airbus, something that will prove invaluable for learning to fly these aircraft well.

I’ve been flying the ZIBO mod in XP11 for a long while, just picked this aircraft up yesterday on sale, flew it with no guidance. As I’m trying to set up for my arrival, I was looking high and low for the nav radios to tune the ILS. I worked out that the FMS (whatever Airbus calls it) managed it, sort of like an RNAV, but still felt very wrong. I’ve enjoyed several of your videos now. Great content, subscribed.

Several questions: 1.When approaching for a Cat II/III landing do we simply press 'APPR' once the 'Pink Diamonds' are lit up on the PFD and dont mess with the altitude setting (for the autopilot)? I've been close to landing at WSSS 02L and i was too high and was forced to go around. Is it probably because i messed with the altitude selector after i pressed the 'APPR' which overrides the 3 degree descent the plane is putting itself into? 2.Is AP 2 only used for Cat III landings? 3.Does activating the 'APPR' button (AP 2 disabled) automatically put the plane into a 3 degree glideslope? 4.How to activate the Landing checklist on the upper central panel? Does it come automatically as soon as 'Gears Three Green' ? Thanks ^^
@320SimPilot4 жыл бұрын
You would leave the Alt at your last cleared altitude or the platform altitude (from the chart), then once you get GS* mode you can set it to your Go Around Altitude. AP2 is used to make the aeroplane CAT 3 Dual capable, but I normally use it always as it provides a backup. The APPR button does not start a 3 degree approach, it just allows it to capture an ILS. The 'Landing' message memo/checklist appears automatically on approach, it appears later after a go around. Hope this helps!

If ATC say something like “maintain 160 knots until 4 DME (apparently common at heathrow) does that often cause any difficulties? I’m guessing you keep gear up until then to reduce drag and engine noise
@320SimPilot4 жыл бұрын
Yes this is possible and you would leave the gear up if possible for those reasons, I will talk about it more in the future!

Hello Captain :-) On B737 the maximum flaps position to use with speed brakes are flaps 10. What is the maximum flap position to use with speed brakes deployed on A320 family aircrafts?
@320SimPilot4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mechanik, thanks for watching! On the A321 speed brakes can only be used up to CONF 2. For 3 and FULL they will not work (they will retract automatically if you are still using them!). On the A319 they work until COF 3. On the A320 they work until CONF 3 but only half deflection whilst the autopilot is on.

Appreciate your work sir but I have one question as a real pilot you will want a addon which is closest to the real aircraft but you are using toliss which is not study level why dont you use flightfactor a320 or fslabs a320 (if you have p3d or fsx) ? just a curious question to know what is unique about toliss

Hello! First of all, thanks for the great video. I keep wondering what I'm doing wrong, because I don't ALWAYS have the problem, only sometimes. Correct QNH is turned in, diamond is visible, I press APPR and activate AP2, the aircraft turns towards the final, but immediately afterwards it turns right off course and flies away from the ILS, so to speak. As soon as I deactivate APPR again, it comes back halfway on course, as soon as I activate APPR again, it turns away again. What's going on there? I'm really desperate. : / Thank you and have a nice evening sir

Everytime i turn on the approach in the MCP the plane start turning right even though i'm at the localizer and waiting for the glidslope. I only have 1 autopilot on. What could i do wrong? I have a video out on my channel tomorrow that shows exactly my problem with the ILS if you could take a look at it. Ignore the horrible landing itself.
