got to your last tip about the power button and didn't see any change so i started button mashing volume up, home key, and power key and then button mashing volume down, home key and power key and kept alternating between volume up and volume down. Not sure if it was your last tip that did the trick or if it was because of my button mashing, or maybe a combination of everything. But my phone finally got off the bootloop and resumed installing system updates and restarted like normal. In any case, thank you for all of the tips!

I got two broken phones. My years old phone (J5 2015) that vibrates when loading or pressing buttons but doesn't otherwise work it fell to ground there isn't lot of scratches so I'm bit conused. My new phone (J5 2017) which basiallicly still works it takes touch and everything but half of the screen is covered by black/dark violet stuff and i can't see too well. I can make calls and everything bur can't really read messages and that stuff. It fell on floor from only about half meter. There was first only some black stuff at screen near the volume buttons but next morning i woke up it was like it is now. So if you know how I could fix at least one of them I would be really happy.

Try the opposite volume button until screen pops up, and read the text that is in red. Whatever it says is the problem. Think of what could solve the problem. For example, my red text says no space left, so I wiped the whole thing. It worked. Try it.

you just have to keep trying different things. removing battery, sim card. pressing this button or this button with that button again and again. May take more than 24 hrs. Eventually it will come on or start charging. I dont know for sure but I think maybe they are designed to not restart for safey reasons, overheating etc. My S4 stopped working a day ago and just now it started to charge after trying different things. The battery pops on the screen says zero perscent and a note saying your phone was shut off due to overheating. Im not trying it now until it charges but I think I will get it back on again.
