I think for the "is drugs good for sports" section: He is saying that pro athletes need pharmaceuticals to help them recover properly since they train an ABSURD amount. Not exactly specifying / promoting drugs like roids etc but the health industry needs to develop and grow with the sport so athletes can progress better and safer. Without them, athletes would degrade fast in their pro years and the sports progress would stall.

Then it showed him winning Paris, on the ground yelling as loud as he could. It really showed how much was in his shoulders and that was what the country turned him into. Ilyan Ilyn is one of the greatest lifter of all time. Everybody used doping in an increasing way from 60's so, as everybody use doping, the winner is the best one. We have to consider that in 1948, 100 kg World Champion John Davis did around 140 kg Snatch and 180 C&J. So we cannot attribute the huge surge in results to training method, supplements ..and bla bla bla. So we cannot know the real reasons why Ilyn was ripped from his medal. How can we think the others are clean, while other lifters did e.g 185\230 ? Or the women today that can lift the same kgs of same men weight category of 50's ? And now the doping business is huge and is difficult to stop it. Ilya remain one of the my favorite Lifter.

It's well known that in the world elite and Olympic weightlifting all participants to a greater or lesser extent use anabolics. The difference they banned some of them and not others is found in politics. Not just because of this interview, but even because he seemingly is the only person who doesnt blame his doping violation on "tainted supplements" or some other BS excuse. It is so unfair that Ilya gets popped though, yet North Korea, Iran, China etc, doesnt. I know they all have been popped in the past, but recently they haven't. Even Georgia can be included here. Not saying anything bad about athletes from these countries, I love to watch them. But its not fair to do this to one guy who has attracted so much attention to the sport. Thank you for this interview it was excellent. My personal opinion is that PED"s will never be eliminated from sports, professional or amateur. It's more of a game of cat and mouse between the PED users and the PED testers. People seem to think that PED users are only what they are because of the PED's when in reality PED's allow the athlete to work so much harder than they would be able to otherwise, allowing for these incredible performances. I think the world of sports would be much more entertaining to watch, which is the purpose of televised sports, if they eliminated the PED testing. Otherwise the game of PED users using novel compounds that are not known or testable then the testers playing catch up will continue. Nothing in my opinion takes away Ilyin's incredible performances and he will always be one of the best regardless of PED use.

You ask very good questions, but these are questions that would be extremely difficult for him to answer even if the interview were conducted entirely in his native language. As others have already pointed out, expecting him to listen and respond effectively in English is not realistic; his English skills, although they are improving, are not yet at the necessary level. I really hope that in the future, you will conduct such interviews in the subject's native language and either provide subtitles, or instead carry out the interview through a translator directly.

Please teach me how to squat, how to keep my lower back arch. My lower back keeps rounding when it's heavy weight.
@grumpycroissant87124 жыл бұрын
Are you squatting for weightlifting? If it's so, you have to make effort to have your torso upright. Leaning too much forward can make your lower back rounding. You mention that your back rounds during heavy squats, it's a sign that your quads are not strong enough to handle the weight so you compensate by leaning forward- that way, you utilized your back and hamstrings more. Squat down, don't squat back. Do more front squats in the mean of time to really get the feel of being upright in the bottom position (also less back exercises). As for stretching, do spiderman lunge stretch, "russian baby maker", and towel hamstring stretch I had the same issue, especially for my bodytype- short torso and long legs. I tended to lean forward. I used to put my body-barbell weight centered on mid foot. I changed it to center more on the heels while squatting down, my squats becoming so much more upright and no more lower back rounding.
@Goriaas4 жыл бұрын
1 in case of "buttwink": don't squat deeper than your mobility allows for. if you want to squat very deep your knees have to go far enough forward and outward to allow you that kind of depth 2 in case of rounding over: don't turn it into a good morning, stay in your quads, if your back folds over on the way up, reduce weight to a point where you can keep your desired back angle. if that takes additional quad work like front squats do those aswell I don't have that problem I am not a very leggy guy I'm 6'3(191cm) but with short legs and arms, it's easy for me to stay upright. But I have a worse position for pulls because of my shorter(relative to torso) limbs ^WHat the guy above me said is pretty good
