I think that's because greed itself is all encompassing; it's not limitied to one area of life like sex or food. It's desire for more of anything in general. When Mammon wants something, he'll do anything to get it and to keep it. That could possibly be why he's like a spider demon and his circus is full of spiderweb; greed ties every sin together.

I also thought that they are focusing on them because it is a mirroring relationship between an imp and demon of higher status that is happy and healthy that Blitz gets a lot of exposure to. They (along with Bee and Tex) are a beacon of hope that in the world of Helluva Boss that this type of relationship can succeed. Stolas and Blitz are, in their seperation, individually chipping away at obstacles in the relationship. Stolas working to end the transactional quality of the relationship, by him trying to obtain the crystal. Blitz being shown that his belief that noble demons can't truly love/want imps for anything but sex is false and also disproving that every relationship that has been broken in his life can't be fixed. It reminds me of... Spoilers for anime-only watchers of Beastars x x x x x x x x x x x x x They do a similar thing in Beastars with Legoshi and Haru. They end up having separate storylines and thinking about their relationship. Legoshi is busy working for Yahya to clear his criminal record and meets an antagonist (Melon) who is the product of a carnivore/herbivore relationship. Haru is at university and while there runs into a lion (Eado) and rabbit (Ako), who are in a relationship.

The status thing absolutely plays a role, but Fizz saying Ozzie is only with him because of who he is at his best, I definitely can see the caretaker friend syndrome too. Considering that the next episode is titled “The Full Moon” I have no doubt that we’ll very much be getting a Stolas and Blitzo centered episode next. (I’m also afraid that it’ll wreck me 😢) This episode was absolutely fantastic though! It was great to see more of Fizz and Ozzy and their genuinely healthy and supportive relationship, it was awesome to meet another Sin (even if he was a total sleezebag), it was really nice to have more of the friendship being rekindled between Blitzo and Fizz, and the songs were absolute bangers! 😁 Also, the scene with Fizz communicating in sign language with the kid completely melted my heart. 🥹 I (and many other commenters I’ve seen) have a headcanon that, after the fire, Fizz either temporarily lost his hearing and/or his vocal cords were too damaged to speak for some time, so he learned Sign to communicate while he recovered. But, he very well could have also just learned it so that he could make sure that all of his fans could feel included. ☺️

What I find interesting about this episode is how Fizz has a similar issue to Blitz; dealing with self-love (or lack thereof). Blitz doesn't love himself and can't fathom someone seeing him as more than either a lower specimen or a plaything which is why he can't imagine being more to someone like Stolas. Fizz already has a loving partner but he's afraid to lose him and everything else he's gained if he's not "good enough." God this episode is so good! Fizzy and Ozzie are my favorite couple in the show now!

I feel like the whole reason behind the perspective switch from Blitzo & Stolas to Fizz & Ozz is so that Vivzi can have Blitz seeing what love looks like in different perspectives. Maybe a bit of a stretch but him (Blitzo) getting a flashback scene of comparing Asmodeus protecting Fizz in this episode to Stolas protecting him back in Episode 6: Truth Seekers.

I think you're spot on and I think spindlehorse is BRILLIANT for completely switching to another duo with so many parallels to our main couple, and making us care so deeply for them in just 2 episodes! We see comparisons and contrasts between both couples but also each of the individuals (meaning Stolas vs Ozzie, Blitzø vs Fizz) and BOTH our main guys get to see their own relationship through a new lens. Its beautiful and I just DESPERATELY hope that this means when Stolas gives the crystal to Blitzø and he ....lets be real Blitzø will probably run away and feel hurt, but I just really hope he goes to Fizz/Ozzie to talk about it and they're there to knock sense into him!

One thing I've been considering re: Fizz knowing sign language - He was severely injured in what could best be described as a percussive blast. Since he was close enough to it to suffer significant damage to his face and horns, it's also incredibly likely that he could have sustained terrible damage to his eardrums including a rupture. He may very well have lived through an extended period of deafness/hearing loss that would result in him needing to learn sign. That makes his interaction with the young imp even more personal and meaningful...he saw a young fan and met them on a level they both intrinsically understood. Actually, given that imps don't seem to have external ears we could reason they have something resembling a tympanic membrane which would suffer HORRIBLY from an explosion like the one Fizz endured.

Fizz has been my favorite character ever since Loo Loo Land when all we knew about him was that he and Blitzo had beef, I just really liked his design and voice and felt he was a very intriguing character when they kept teasing stuff about him slowly and now he's by FAR my favorite after Oops and this episode where we get to see who he is outside of his professional public persona. He's so incredibly likable and relatable and tragic and his relationships he has with his (not creepy) fans and Ozzie are so unbelievably wholesome. Love him.

I didn’t know you were partially deaf. My mother has a close friend who’s deaf (and LEGALLY blind) who would sometimes teach me a few signs during visits. I wasn’t that interested in learning sign language back then. But after taking a course on it, I actually grew to like it. Especially when I use it as a way to help with my stuttering.

Something I didn't notice until I rewatched this was Blitzo doesn't say no to Asmodeus's request to be Fizz's bodyguard or ask for money in return, a stark contrast to when Stolas offered the same in "Loo Loo Land". This is kind of sweet on Blitzo's part, and I think shows both how far he's come as a character and how much he values his friendship with Fizzarolli.

Stolas is still my favorite but Fizz jumped to no. 2 in this episode. Ozzie's no. 3. That scene with the ASL was so wholesome. This show continues to just blow me away with how it incorporates the raunch right along with some of the sweetest character moments.

This episode was such a banger! So many songs that are all earworms and I've listened to on repeat. Loved seeing that Fizz struggles with perfectionisum too and it gave him so much depth of being more than just a sexy clown or a face of produces. Its not where I expected him to go through old videos or the trailer for season two making it seem like this episode would be Fizz and Blitzo young but it was still amazing! One of my favorites of the series for sure! Also, I'm just going to say that previously it had seemed like Fizz was a lewd and open as Blitzo but he looked so uncomofrtable with the advances people were making on him and Ozzie even said he knows Fizz doesn't like the dolls being made in his image. After hearing Ozzie's speech about how lust shouldn't be forced again and that it needs to be earned, I don't half wonder if Fizz is our first Demisexual character. (like ace but needing deep strong emotion connections before being intimate) Could explain why its more than just lust between him and Ozzie too. Ozzie might of had to earn Fizz's love.

I think Fizz and Ozzie got more screentime because some incredibly rough shit is gonna go down between Stolas and Blitz, especially next episode which is called "Full Moon" so Blitz may need someone to fall back on and in order to let that make sense they had to develop these two first. Sometimes some cartoons do that (or have a few side character focussed episodes). Perhaps they may also wanna hurt Fizz later on (there is so much foreshadowing) and they want that to impact both us and Blitz and in order to do that, they had to let us care about him first. On top of that it also shows what Blitz and Stolas COULD BE if they worked on it. Heck Fizz seems to deal with a lot of similar insecurities as Blitz except they both have very different ways of dealing with it.

Oh yeah, Fizz grabbed me five mins into the last episode. My fav character was Moxie until Happy Campers, which kinda made me a little unhappy w/ him, and then Fizz swooped in with his adorable, stretchy, traumatized ass and stole the show. First I just adored his character design, I really loved the whole stretchy long cyborg limbs. It’s just a really cool concept that stems from so much angst, which I obviously slurped right up. Then add on top of that a wholesome ass, unproblematic gay ship and SUDDENLY there was no other option. Then we got THIS gem, which just fully cemented my adoration for him into my heart

By the way! I recommend starting to watch with subtitles. Starting last episode, 6, official subtitles have been put into the videos and they're sometimes really funny lol. Like at the end of 6, there's a comment about the quieves, the puppy things Fizz was walking, all making it home safely lol
