6:58 That's Agent Kovich from Discovery in the background. 7:16 He is essentially an abandoned plot point from the movies. When Saavik stayed behind in Star Trek 4, The script originally indicated and the scenes were actually shot, that this was because she was pregnant due to her comforting Spock during his pon farr in Star Trek 3. 7:55 That's Yor, also from Discovery. When the crew arrived in the 32nd century and were given their history lesson about the Temporal Cold War by the aforementioned Agent Kovich, Yor was said to be a 24th century Temporal Cold War time agent from the Kelvin universe. As such, he has the power to move Kirk through time and space and reunite him with Spock. 10:26 That little wooden box contains an image of Spock Prime's friends from the prime universe, circa Star Trek 6. This box is given to Kelvin Spock upon being informed of Spock Prime's death in Star Trek Beyond. And these effects weren't accomplished by traditional de aging effects. Kirk is Sam Witwer in a real-time digital mask. Essentially a very sophisticated Snapchat filter.

This is an amazing love letter for us fans, hugely respecting the characters and giving us a spectacular ending for our most beloved Kirk and Spock and, mind you, a just deceased Kirk going for a Spock that is dying in the Kelvin timeline, how awesome is that? Great reaction! Cheers from Brazil. I hope someday they will do something as heartfelt and respectful for our Star Wars heroes, too

While I know there is no dialogue in this "fan"film... when Spock first opens his eyes, did anyone else hear Kirk say "I have been, and always shall be, your friend." And once Spock realizes Jim IS there, to arch his eyebrow and say "Fascinating..." because I know I did. I believe Crusher is the man in the white dress uniform, seen when Kerk first steps out of the garden.

I thought it might have been the doctor that was working with kirks body, just in the flashes... i also realised that the vulcan in the robe behind saavik was meant to be sarek which makes total sense to me now. As for your questions i also heard those words :D
@RVB86
@RVB86 Ай бұрын
@@timdrake2009 From what I've read, the Vulcan behind Saavik in the robes (identified as Sorak in the credits) is the son of Saavik and Spock after their encounter on the Genesis planet. He wasn't canon yet but supposedly is now.

I think it's meant to imply Kirk's body was resurrected by the Daystrom Institute after Picard Season 3 since we see the screen shot of the info about his body. Then a resurrected Kirk met with Savikk who introduced him to Yor it's understandable not to know him he's from Discovery Season 3 I had to look him up. He's a Time Agent from the TNG Era of the Kelvin Timeline he can travel between time and dimensions meaning he sent Kirk to Spock when he died in the Kelvin Timeline before Star Trek Beyond so Spock could have his true brother by his side at death.

Ending Kirk & Spock since I became a fan in 1966 when I was 6. Here in New York my family watched always 2 things Ed Sullivan( including the Beatles) & as we raced to the moon . This series was so popular in reruns as well . There was a time where u could turn on a channel & Trek in reruns would be on. I became a tea lore nerd when the Star Trek compendium came out. My knowledge of Trek is vast. From TNG , DS9. Voyager. & Enterprise were absolute masterpieces. I really wish that Kurtzman Trek had NOT done prequels as that was done in the 2st pilot The Cage & the 2 part The Menagerie. Spock only answer was the way to save this former Captain Pike. With the addition Strang New Worlds. Singing & Dancing Klingons have destroyed the Klingon race & its 50 year built tension against the Federation. This is the love ❤️ & affection we needed to finally say goodbye to Kirk & Spock. He had to join Spock in the Kelvin time line. RIP & all who have passed. To all those still with us Mr Shatner how beloved in this role u did was brilliant. Damn..... I tear up every single time.🖖

I believe Crusher is the man in the white dress uniform. Sorak - the Vulcan standing behind Saavik is her son by Spock. In Wrath of Khan Saavik (Kirstie Alley) was supposed to be half Vulcan half Romulan but it was never revealed in any of the films - just like her pregnancy. Sorak could be part Romulan, Vulcan and Human. Deaging - no it's all Sam acting as William Shatner playing Kirk (see the Trek Culture video interview of Witwer). The woman you didn't recognize is Yeoman J.M. Colt from The Cage/The Menagerie. When Marvel got the comic book contract* for Star Trek one of their comics was titled Star Trek: Early Voyages (essentially the precursor to Strange New Worlds) and there was a 4 issue arc about a time travelling Yeoman Colt going to the future. In that story her serial number was given as 765874. For full background see Robert Meyer Burnett's video on Otoy 765874 posted about a year ago. Apparently the Roddenberry archive is making connections * The contract was previously held by DC comics and after the Marvel run handed over to IDW.

So, for all intents and purposes, Gary Mitchell didn't really "die", as was portrayed towards the end of "Where No Man Has Gone Before"----he just ascended (at some point), into the heavens (the Universe) to resume his role as a "god-like" being; basically watching the Universe unfold with all its myriad wonders, glories, and tragedies...like all god-like beings are suppose to do, I guess. I always wondered, even after seeing "Where No Man Has Gone Before", (back in the early '70s), how one puny laser-rifle could stop a being with god-like abilities. I guess we're lead to believe that Gary, presumably momentarily dazed after falling into Kirk's "grave", succumbed to being essentially buried alive by the giant rock crashing down upon him, grave and all. Then, Mitchell just entered a state of "metamorphosis", per se, to achieve greater use of his powers; eventually leaving the physical plane of existence, and attaining his place among the heavens. Now that supposition would make a great Star Trek short-story/short film.
