Let’s let it be clear that health looks different in every BODY…Sumo wrestlers for example. HOWEVER! Anyone that’s this size is definitely unhealthy & is at risk of dying sooner than later.

Sumo wrestlers have a life expectancy of 10 years less than the average Japanese man. Just because its a tradition, it does not mean its healthy. There are no ld sumo wrestlers at their weight because the body cannot handle eating what sumos eat for many years.

Even their diets are different from your high corn syrup, fat saturated deep fried food. + pin NPCs incoming, brace yourself.

As someone who has struggled with his weight most of his life, I feel this topic whole heartedly. The since Covid I ballooned up to about 415lbs which scared the hell out of me. Our society has become a system of enablers when it comes to obesity but ultimately it is my fault, my responsiblity and my choices that led me here to where I am. This past winter I made the choice to make a change and have started to see thsoe results. I am down over 25lbs and am driven to get back in shape so I can be here for my family and esspecially my kids. When it comes between being over weight and dying early or depriving myself of unhealthy treats and conveint unhealthy foods, I choose to live.

Try bouldering in your local area! It helped me get from 110kg fatty to 90kg nicely shaped body not super lean! I'm super healthy atm, even eating the shit I like most of the time! Also picked up skateboarding for cardio. xD Took about 1,5 years with many injuries (so take it slow) but now I feel like my body can do anything now. Even a unwarmed up beachvolleyball session for more then a hour and goings super hard.. only a bit of muscle ache. xD I've not been to the gym once in my last 10 years. That shit is toxic!! Good Job man! I hope you get there too.

If you have the funds consider seeing a psychologist/ therapist many ppl who are very obese have other issues going on & if not dealt with you can make weight loss more difficult. I have seen it happen with ppl at the medical centre I work at & with a close friend. She had very controlling parents. She had no choices as a kid & just had to do what her parents wanted. The only place they did not restrict her was how much she ate so she ballooned. The minute she started losing weight the feeling of being out of control krept up & she started to self sabotage until she started to self hate. It got so bad she was committed. Then she saw a therapist & everything clicked & now she is much happier & on her journey to her goal weight & this time its easier.

I don’t think there’s a need to rank a list of diseases, I’ll keep avoiding all of them any way I can. AIDS is cruel, diabetes is cruel, shingles is cruel, IBS is cruel.
@dylaroo24
@dylaroo24 Жыл бұрын
@@_..-.._..-.._ Shingles is not cruel in the way cancer is. I have stage 4 nerve cancer myself, I’ve had this cancer for coming up on 2 decades in a 2 weeks, since I was 5 years old, and I’ve had shingles multiple times, they are no where near comparable. I can understand not wanting to create a hierarchy of diseases, but there is a clear line between the severity of these diseases. Diabetics often go on to live relatively normal lives my 80 year old grandmother is diabetic, trust me that’s the least of the issues she faces day in and out. With cancer, even if by some miracle it doesn’t kill you, your life is destroyed, your body is a broken mess, especially in cases like mine being childhood cancer. I got extremely lucky that for some reason my cancer decided to be the 1 in a million that just remained stable for nearly 2 decades now. But I still saw just how badly cancer destroys an entire family, how it breaks the minds of those enduring it and watching it, how it can make 8 year olds curse the world and everything in it. I spent plenty of time watching other families come and go, and how they handled their cruel fate, it was never an easy thing to watch. It forces you to grow up extremely quickly, come to terms with the reality that you’ll never have a normal life. Despite surviving 2 decades I still can’t have a normal life, my body is destroyed, I can barely walk to the end of the block without my back feeling like it’ll explode any minute. I look like I’m 14 when I’m actually 24, people will say to me “well you’ll be glad when your 34” to which I think to myself “oh yeah, I’ll get to go through most of my life without any social or relationship experience and I’ll still look 14, sounds fun!”. How am I supposed to have a relationship with someone when they think it would be illegal/paedophilic to consider dating me? My teeth are also rotted out due to treatments, I’m missing I think like 10 of my adult teeth now. My family sold everything they owned to get me treatment so I got no money to fix things or have that as my appeal. I was already genetically skinny before cancer, so now I look anorexic. I don’t have any proper educations and my only interests are random stuff on the internet, games and Tv shows/movies. I also live in an area that is impossible to get anywhere without a car, but I can’t drive to heavy pain medication and I can’t afford a car anyway. Point is cancer is on another level of cruel even for those that survive with it.

@Broskisnowski Exactly, I’ve had shingles dozens of times, I got a small rash on my right shoulder (always appeared in the same spot for whatever reason) it’d be itchy and I’d rub some special cream on it I got from the doctor (I think it was mostly just for the itching) and it’d be gone in a week or two. And every time I got shingles I had cancer and was going through treatment at the time, it was just a minor inconvenience, that was it. It’s a far cry from anything serious like cancer, shingles are a tame version of chicken pokes for the most part.

This comment is perfect! For anyone in the UK who is familiar with the actress June Brown (Dot from Eastenders) she smoked 20-a-day for 70 years and lived to 95 years old! There will be people who will say stuff like “my nanna smoked 2 packs a day since she was 13 and lived till 90, she was fine and so will I be!” but those hardy people are the exception to the rule. If we know what’s bad for us but still consume it to the extreme, we shouldn’t be surprised if it’s our downfall. What doesn’t k*ll you might k*ll me! It might be pure luck, good genetics or blessings from a higher power that determine these things, there’s no need to take it into your own hands to k*ll yourself slowly. PS. I started losing weight in April 2022, I was 500 pounds. The world is so much different after losing 170 pounds. Being fat is a drag on your joints, bones, digestive system and organs. It's not a great way to be and Aba is right, your body becomes a prison. You can't fit in chairs, travel, you can't stand for extended periods, you set limits on yourself about where you can go and what activities you can participate in. I run a kitchen in a retirement hospital and you absolutely see overweight elderly people, obese even. No, not many but we had one that was so big when she had a heart attack the firefighters had to take out the wall and forklift her out the second floor. Which was embarrassing for her. When she come back from the hospital the boss sat her down and spoke to her and said "If you pass away from this, we are going to have to get the firefighters here again to crane out your body and we do not want to put you or your family through that so we are putting you downstairs" She wasn't happy about that but she agreed. @@-Gax-Half truths and or misconceptions are definitely bothersome but these two examples in the comments state that they did not see obese elderly people. Not that they do not exist. In both comments they say "I never saw" not "morbidly obese elderly people do not exist". In everything there are exceptions to the rule. When people say "You do not see x" they most of the time are talking about the majority. Or at least that is how I see it. When people talk about how they do not see morbidly obese elderly people I think they mean they do not see it as a thing that is happening often. I’m not fat, just very overweight. I’m a 5’4 woman and weighed myself a few weeks ago and burst into tears when I discovered I was 180lbs. I know to some people that isn’t that much but I had also already seen signs of pre-diabetes in my body, and I think I had a wake-up call. I’ve been trying to lose weight for the past two weeks, being more active. It’s hard. But I want to feel more confident about myself, be able to do things for the rest of my life and try to not die from a fairly preventable health issue. People like this scare me, they’re glorifying an eating disorder, glorifying something that can break down someone’s mental state so quickly. @@NotAnotherKuromi Nope. She's categorically obese level 1 if your gonna use bmi calculator online. Her BMI is 30.9 which is obese level 1. I used that BMI calculator online for myself and even with 10.4 lbs overweight, I still find myself struggling in the toilet with my beer belly. Can't imagine how hard it is in the toilet being obese myself. Best she can do is accept it and makes steps to not reach to what the guy in the video's weight is because that weight is a death sentence like what happened to Ricky Naputi and many others. Sometimes I wonder why so many westerners(even teenagers which at that age should not be using such stuff) use opioids a lot when your body don't really need stuff like that unless your a lumberjack or something. Then I see videos pertaining to people like these and "oh so that's why opioids are a thing in the west!". In my country, unless you work as a hard laborer, nobody really use opioids here but it makes sense why lots of people in the west are addicted to pain relievers because they are pushing their bodies past the limits of what the body is intended to be. That's why there's a saying of "too much of something is bad enough". There's a reason why the stomach is just about the same size of your fist and you shouldn't eat more than that unless your a blue collar laborer who needs it or an athlete who needs it to build more muscle.

At my peak weight, I was 494 lbs. It was an absolutely miserable life, both physically and mentally. When you're that weight, you are so broken that it's nearly impossible on your own to fix your life; that motivating "I've had enough" moment never comes. You're the frog in the slow boiling pot; it's gonna kill you but you but you've been in the situation so long it no longer moves you. Instead you just have a miserable mindset about every part of your existence: depression, shame, escapism, fatigue, and a complete lack of self-worth. This man needs help - even if he doesn't acknowledge it - and the person who's closest to him seems to be betraying him for fame and a paycheck. Don't get me wrong on that though; ultimately the responsibility is his. There's programs he can reach out to. I started medically supervised weight loss and followup advanced bariatric surgery last October. Since then I'm down 137 pounds and still losing. It's permanent life changes and it's much harder than I originally expected, but the final goal will be worth it.

I have a buddy whose parents didn’t buy the healthiest foods. Met him in 6th grade, and from that time, until about our first year of college, he was morbidly obese. I was with him throughout, so I saw what he did. Honestly, he simply would eat, maybe two meals a day. Never went to the gym, though he did a lot of work outside. But the biggest thing, I noticed through that, is diet. How many calories you eat. You will lose weight, if you eat less. There’s not much more to it. He’s as fit as me these days.

weight and the overal BMI index vary between people. depens on the overall size. your Metabolizm is mostly influenced and effected of what you grew up with. if you had a unhealthy lifestile as young child you'll struggle with the afte effect from it as an adult. however it is never to late. all it means it mostly requires more work and dedication than on average but it is very much possible. if somone whos crippled with no leggs can do it. than what is your excuse for not being able. in the end its all depends on the individual. not your family and friends nor society

@LBK978
@LBK978 Жыл бұрын
@@DissyFanartwell likely your diet isn't healthy in micro nutrients, but we do make some things harder than they need to. At 340, the process is actually easier to lose weight than when you DO hit under 300. Your body metabolism is higher now and will go down as you lose weight. Eat 500 calories less and make a walking goal that's doable. Maybe that's 5k steps a day. Do that each weekday while eating 500 less calories and check your weight weekly (not daily). Also make sure your water intake is good. If this works, keep doing it, but do little increases with the fitness. Add 500 extra steps every 2 weeks so it doesn't feel dreadful to add on. Another way is to add hills into your route or simply walk faster for sustained periods. Walking is a slept on activity. I'd highly recommend staying away from running and constant stairs until you get your weight down. Walking doubles the force of your bodyweight on your legs. Running can be several times more than that. Stairs not as much as running, but it adds a lot. Let your body get used to working with the walks and adapting to it. This will build a habit by about a month in if you kept to it. As you start to go down in weight, slowly begin to learn about macro and micronutrients to be better informed about your health. You'll learn that what you eat now is likely calorie dense foods (lots of calories in something easy to eat a lot of). You can eventually find non calorie dense foods you can eat. Imo, what will help you is taking measured steps that enable longterm adherence. Crash diets will either fail you short term with you giving up, or longterm when you relapse. Take steps, but smart small ones and keep taking them until you reach your goal. Consistency is what will get you there

You have to eat good lean meat and if you do eat carbs make it be from fruit and not fruit juices. Only drink water. Start exercising with walking until you can run, or if you can swimming is great. Intense cardio without the stress on your joints, or a stationary bike. Lots of cardio with minimal carbs.

As someone that went from 520+ pounds to 290 in about two years, I wouldn't be able to deal with the idea of going back to that size. At a certain point, the strain on your body every time you move is so darn hard on yourself that you can't exercise without hurting yourself if you're not careful. (Swimming and Cycling being the only two safe options.) I understand that this woman might not care for his husband's weight from a love perspective, but there are ways to help someone wihtout shaming them, which she doesn't seem to be inclined to work towards. I feel sad for this man because I used to be in that state of mind for a while, not caring about the effects it had on me. At 35 years, I'm happy that I've taken the steps to get my health on shape at 30 yo. Still not in the best shape right now, but I can move, I can dance, I can wear the clothes that I want instead of the one I can wear. I sincerly wish for that man to get back on track and find the motivation to take his health seriously. As someone who has been gaining more weight than I'm used to, I feel like my partner addressed it in the perfect way (for context I'm usually underweight since I struggle with chronic anxiety, depression, and IBS which makes me nauseous a lot and hard to eat regularly and absorb nutrients. Over the last few months I've been doing pretty well mentally and have been able to meet my weight goal, but actually went over my goal by a significant amount) Because of my situation my BF is aware that my situation is sensitive and doesn't want to push me in the opposite unhealthy way that I was stuck at. So he just brought up my weight goal and genuinely asked If I was happy being over the goal I set for myself. I admitted that I wasn't so we decided to be more active TOGETHER to counter it. Now we go to the gym together a lot walk the dogs together, and he wants to teach me how to box. Cooking together also help us eat healthier. It feels so good to work together and not be alone on my journey. He's more of a let's focus on the solution not the problem, which I really appreciate, cuz he never points out my weight problem areas to shame me and make me more self conscious and still makes me feel desired and attractive in general.

I grew up fit. I realized when I was overweight ( steriods cushings syndrome) I felt so ashamed of what I looked like I locked myself away and got bigger. I think people should be healthy but not want to self delete because of their weight. I thought the point of this movement was to love yourself, stop the judgement from others, so you can get healthy. I knew I was fat, I didnt need to feel shame 24/7. It took hard work on my mental health to lose the weight. I felt too disgusting and at one point I lost hope. My in-laws treated me awful for the way I looked. My husband married me at my worse cuz he knew who I really am. I have gained weight twice. From illness, injury, mental health/stress, and bad habits. I lost weight twice. It took a will to live to lose weight. My point to body positivity is encourage health, stop judging weight. It's unhealthy to promote obesity, but acceptance and letting people live their lives is supposed to be the goal. If I felt more accepted in society for my size and less like I was getting laughed at, if I had clothes that were big but cute, I would have had less social anxiety, my mental health would've improved, I would feel encouraged to go live life, and get active.

Well, he ate quite a lot, enjoyed his meals even more and... lost weight. What the US is doing to its people is criminal. And with all the big pharma shenanigans, we're unfortunately on the same highway to bs land too. Our strong cultures and the sheer variety of it in Europe is probably the reason why we haven't completely lost the plot already. But still, it's quite alarming to see how things used to be when I was a little girl in the 80s and what's the situation today.

I lost a friend a year and a half ago to obesity. Technically the cause of death was listed as cardiac arrest due to complications from sleep apnea but death certificates aren't going to say obesity. Ultimately it is what it is. I always knew he was a big guy, and to be honest I always knew something was going to happen. I just thought there would be an event, and then I would visit him in the hospital and we would have a heart to heart and that combined with the hospital stay would be the final tipping point to him getting the help he needed to finally lose the weight. But there was never an event. One day he was here and the next he wasn't. I regret not having that conversation with him. I never wanted to overstep and it's not like he didn't know he was overweight. But I do think maybe if I had brought it up ever it could have been a nudge in the right direction. He was such a great person. And he was only 34. Don't wait to turn things around if you need help. If your loved one needs help I hope you don't wait to approach them compassionately. I really assumed it was on some fetish shit. I really want to highlight the importance of this shit though. Whether you are all muscle or all fat being 500 lb is absurdly unhealthy. Your organs are just not meant to support that much mass. No matter what you're doing you're always going to be overclocking them the bigger you get. Hell even bodybuilders that are 3 to 400 lb are more at risk for heart attack because of what I just said. Anyway, here's a fun fact: This guy weighs more than the average weight of most species of bears in the world. Again, humans are not supposed to be this damn big! And if someone is trying to gas light you by saying you're body shaming they are the real problem.

I doubt Preach will see or read this, but condolences to him, that child, and the other family/loved ones of the woman who recently died of cancer. Cancer affects all of us in some way. Either we go through it or someone we love endures it (and often loses their life). At age 18, my precious Uncle Sonny succumbed to cancer, exactly 6 months after his 31 year old son (my first cousin) died in a car accident hitting a deer on his way home from work. Joey was a newlywed and like his father, a pure soul who was always kind and nurturing to all who loved him. My Uncle Sonny was the only true, loving father figure I ever had in my life. It’s been 27 years, and I still miss him every day (as well as his son, my sweet cousin). In 2016, my former partner died after a hard fought battle with breast cancer that spread to the bones and brain. She died the day before my 38th birthday. She was only 42 years old. I still think of her, as even though we were not romantically involved when she died, we had become closer friends than ever before. She was so damn brave! Cancer sucks. It’s so ugly and unfair. It can get any of us at any time. 💐

The amount of strain it puts on your body is unbelievable, the low level chronic endotoxic inflammation that is present in obese people is harrowing. All the aches and pains and constant illness I had when I was 420lbs, the lower leg oedema, respiratory issues, sleep apnea, chronic fatigue....all of that shit has gone. And you can't even say "its due to exercise" because apart from walking a lot more now I lost weight via diet, it was purely the weight that caused the issues. And I think that's sad, it hurts, and even if they're overweight or obese they're still people who deserve respect. I dont think people over 100+ even 50-60+ pounds are happy with how they look or physically feel. Very few but a lot I would say no.

It’s sad. I get not making feel people feel shitty for their weight but rather encouraging them and uplifting to make healthy choice instead they are more so normalizing being overweight and that’s wild to me.

In the middle of a weight loss journey because having a child made me look more long term into my future. Was around 270 lbs. Down to 215 now with 180lbs as my goal. All I did was cut fast food (saved so much money to) and cut my portions in half. Instead of a full plate I get half a plate or a quarter of a plate. It's hard at first but just power through and the feeling of wanting more, at least for me after a month, it went away. So many changes already occured. I have more energy, my bp is alot better, the nightly heartburn is gone, I'm just more productive overall among other things. I think what helped to is I drilled holes in my belt to visually see the progress. I've lost almost 8 inches around my waist. Gonna work out again once my elbow heals up and wean off soda to drop this caffeine addiction. What worked for me was taking it one step at a time so it's not overwhelming.

400 pound guy here. I have a bum knee which happened prior to my massive weight gain, I'm now fighting to get in better shape. I go to the gym to lift every other day and have greatly changed my diet, for the first time in my life I am not gaining weight but I'm certainly not losing and it's been four months stuck in a five pound range since an inital 20 pound weight loss. The thing people don't see is how horrible it is to be trapped in a very obese body, I would have to lose almost two people worth of weight to get healthy it's incredibly daunting. I know it's fun to boil the issue down to treats and sweets but it's far more than that. It's also over eating in general and lack of exercise. I don't know what the point of my comment was outside of venting but this is hard and I would encourage you to not look down on fat people when they're working to become better because I'll tell you dragging around an extra one and a half of you while doing exercise is a monster you'll never be able to understand.

It is much easier to say "I'm happy with how I am and everyone should like me the way I am" than it is to say "I really need to do some work to better myself." This goes beyond just weight - far too many people want to make excuses for their choices instead of working to make better choices.

But I think it's also fair to say that some people may ACTUALLY LIKE having fat bodies. Idk why that bothers people so much. Like we just saw a whole extreme body modification trend of women buying themselves huge butts and breasts that in most cases would only be naturally found on someone with an unhealthy bmi..
@KaizenLegacy
@KaizenLegacy Жыл бұрын
@@ajm935 There may be a few that like being severely overweight, but I would expect that to be a massive minority. Most people like to be able to move and do things, and do not look forward to health problems. The problem is they lack self-control when it comes to food. Some of that comes from the fact that the food they eat is incredibly flavorful, but insanely unhealthy, leading to an addictive feedback loop. The "bothers" question is a bit misguided. It is not that people are bothered by someone's choice to be unhealthy, it is that as influencers they are pushing an unhealthy lifestyle as if it was okay. Likewise, the assertion about the plastic surgeries is misguided, but that goes off into a separate topic pretty quickly. Suffice it to say that the vast majority of women getting boob jobs or BBLs are not looking to get fat. As an influencer, he needs to realize he is (for better or worse) a role model for people. On TikTok, especially, this is primarily younger people. By giving them the message that living like he does is okay, he is setting them up for massive health problems later if they follow his lifestyle.

I still had those issues for sometime in the beginning of my weight loss journey but I slowly started sleeping better, my migraines stopped in the mornings, my neck and nostrils were at ease during my sleep, I started getting more social and go out more, alot of things improved in my life and training was the thing that gave that domino effect in a sense. I don’t have asthma but my suggestion if you are struggling with breathing and fat gain, you should start doing low reps weight lifting, and have more rest between sets, I can’t explain how lifting combined with better food like protein rich food and low carbs changed my life as have more energy during my day, with that I’d encourage to take the first steps by creating a gym routine then actually showing up and introduce better food in ur diet and I hope u get better and stronger 💪

As someone who is a Somali who lives in a western country, I have seen people of my culture and ethnicity neglect their health. From the aunties going to Burger King with their kids, to some of my family members being chronically ill. The worst about it is how the school system literally has a dysmal curriculum that does not teach their student of the basics of cooking their own food, while at the same time selling highly-processed "food" products in the cafeteria. Culture and the environment that you have been raised in plays a huge role in this issue, as it literally could shape your trajectory in life, especially in regards of your dietary habits. And I believe in the case of my community, that it needs a rude awakening (loss of close people or diagnosis of disease) for many to realize the severity of this situation.

The guy showed how much sugar there is in a bottle of Cola. They boiled cola and when you do that only the sugar is left....damn that was scary to see how much there is in a bottle of coca cola. It made me drink a whole lot less soda and I'm not even overweight (I'm thin as fuck but you bet your ass that many thin people die of the same reasons as fat people, they eat just as much junkfood but you can't tell as they don't gain any weight). I drink a whole lot more tea and water now, sure I still have a soda, but mostly Cola Zero. Yes I eat sweets every now and then, but I decreased my consumption a whole lot after that one. As with everything in life, it's fine to enjoy some things that aren't healthy, just don't over do it. Keep it moderate. A soda per day won't kill you, but three of four sodas per day is a much bigger risk.
