I switched the other way, from gel to Nebido. I couldn’t get my levels right on gel, they were either super high or super low. On Nebido they’ve been at a good level and really stable, and my changes have been much better, it’s been 👌 But yeah you’ve gotta find what’s right for your body, it’s different for everyone

Wait if it’s too high what’s wrong with that like what happens? I am 2 years & 4 months so say the levels got low wouldn’t it not matter much since I had most my changes? Planned never explained much about levels with me. They check the levels once every 6 months last time it was checked on shots it was 600 something I’m looking to switch to gel form

@@tinyty6570 High levels can be medically dangerous in terms of giving you high blood pressure, risk of stroke, liver issues etc, as well as making you feel overheated, jittery and high sex drive. Also too high T levels can convert to estrogen which affects what changes you see. Low levels can make you feel tired, low sex drive, depressed, & not seeing much in the way of changes also. Even after 2.5 years on T there are still a lot of changes to come, they are just not as dramatic as first year or 2. Things like fat redistribution, facial hair, body hair etc. You are looking for your levels to be in the typical male range - your T provider should be able to advise you on this

@@dogsarenice1233 well guess what? They lied to me this whole time saying they checked my levels and it was only checked once ever.. they just checked it the other day cus I said I need to know .. and it came back at 872. The range goes to 1000 so getting a bit high. Im starting the gel so naturally that should lower it a little bit to the 700s just cus of the way it absorbs

Had an extremely positive experience switching from shots every 12 weeks to Tgel. I've actually been getting a higher T level count on gel than I did on shots, my mood has become regulated and not all over the shop, and my acne has gotten better! Currently two years on T and feeling like I've finally got a handle on it. After trying shots every 3 weeks, to then every three months, to now gel daily, I definitely think Tgel is the best option for me

I hear this alot. Once trans guys get a year to a year and a half in T shots they get tired of the spiked in hormone levels and sticking a needle in themselves. That's why I want to start on gel or do shots for 3-6 months then do gel.

a little tip i read a study about years ago, if you want to get more absorption from testosterone gel you can put lotion over the gel (after it's dried), it seems like that's helped for me :) not sure if anyone would need this but if you're on a low dose prescription and want a littttlleee more from it that might help ya

Ahah fun thing I'm doing the reverse!!! I've been on gel (androgel) 2 pumps for 10 months and its been great very slow steady progression. I want to accelerate the process and switching to shots and increasing dose starting tomorrow just for the short-term and then going back on gel lololol.
@liamthewarrior4 жыл бұрын
Ask your endocrinologist about the possibility of increasing your current dosage instead of switching to shots...what matters are your t levels ,not how you take it. Perhaps it's the two pumps a day that is not enough for your t levels to be optimal.
@carlygee88664 жыл бұрын
@@liamthewarrior thank you yes I did ask my endocrinlogist about doing 3 pumps a day and she said my t levels are still low at 377 which is why she reccomended switching, everyone's body is different in how they react and respond.

I've been on gel for about 10 months I think? There hasn't been any issues except that I had to miss a few days bc they couldn't get my prescription to me in time. But that was just bc I had moved to a different state. It's a little annoying to have to do it EVERYday but it's just become part of my routine. It takes like 2 minutes to do. The only downside to it I think is how much plastic it uses everyday bc the gel is in a little plastic thing. It could be different depending on what type of gel tho. Good luck on switching, man I hope it goes well 👌

Hi! I haven't used gel yet (nor plan to) but I've been switching T brands ever since I was 1.5 years on it too (I'll be 4 years in a month)! Started with one called Primoteston, then used Nebido, Sustanon, Primoteston again and this year I'm back on Sustanon, just like you said the doctors just have to figure out what's the best dosage and T for you, love your vids!
@Lars_erik4 жыл бұрын
I would definitely recommend Tostran more than Androgel if you're switching to gel :) Dries quicker, leaves less residu on your skin and I had less skin problems with Tostran too. Also, if you have a sensitive skin, make sure you switch the spots you're applying it at as much as you can, to prevent you're skin from drying out on a certain spot. I started with Tostran, but due to a shortage I used Androgel for a while too. I waited until I had my mastectomy (because you have to stop using the testosterone before surgery where I live and with gel it means you only have to go 3 days without it so you don't have to plan the surgery date around your shots) to switch to shots. I started out with Sustanon (because my endocrinologist wanted to check how I would respond to shots) and than switched to Nebido in January this year. I don't have many issues with it, I'm just still trying to figure out the right interval for me. At my latest appointment we discussed this again and I'm now going to try a shot every 11 weeks, because my hormone levels currently aren't ok yet in the last weeks before the new shot. I like not having to think about it on a daily basis anymore. Also the risk of transferring it to my partner bothered me a lot. And also not being able to shower whenever I want (after working out for instance) because you have to wait at least 6 hours after applying the gel, messed up my daily schedule too much. But gel does give you the most stable Testosterone levels just like any average Cis guy. So if you don't have problems with the things I just mentioned about it, you'll be just fine :)

I’ve been on testosterone for three years and I just switched to the gel, I did subcutaneous injections once a week but my needle anxiety got worse over the years and it got harder for me to give myself my shot. The gel is definitely more different but it’s easier! I’ve only been doing the gel for 5 days but I definitely recommend it.

yoo I switched from gel to sustanon a few weeks ago. because get cuts in my hands because of my work and the gel is alchohol based and that HURTS a lot :) but like you said. the gel works very well. I've been on the gel for 1 year and 4 months and I got the same fast changes as a friend of mine that is on sustanon. I felt more mentally stable when I was on the gel and I hope that for you too. greetings from the Netherlands🤘🏼

I originally started on gel specifically because I was terrified of needles and wanted to avoid having to give myself shots if at all possible. The silver lining to gel was that I didn’t want the emotional highs and lows I was told I’d get on shots. If shots was the only way, I’d probably still be sitting there trying to give myself that first injection... 3 years later (I’m 3 years on t in a week!🎉). One specific thing to be aware of is that you really have to specifically plan your showers and avoid getting your application site wet. I took a shower about 7 hours after applying my gel and I got the worst headache because I washed it off too soon. I also can’t go swimming and have to be careful about getting wet in the rain. It’s mildly inconvenient to deal with but not that big of a deal in the long run.

Hey, I just started t two weeks ago and I've started on androgel 1% 10.0g per day. I use 2 sachets which are both 5.0g every morning. In this short amount of time I have noticed hair growth (mostly on my arms) and a little more acne. At first, it took me about 20 minutes to apply but over time I have figured out a routine and it only takes up 10 minutes of my morning. Dries pretty fast too, usually taking 10-20 minutes to fully dry. Once it becomes a part of your routine it doesn't seem like a hassle anymore. Also, in terms of mental changes, like I said it's only been 2 weeks, but I don't notice any highs or lows in terms of energy or mental state.

W gel the mood thing depends on the time of day you take it at. In the mornings itll give you like a high mood like good energy levels through the day and that. If you take it at night youll feel tired duting the day cuz youre low on t and then the levels of t you have affects your energy which affects your mood

if the gel doesn't work out for you try taking sustanon every two (0.4 - 0.5 ml) or three (0.6 - 0.8 ml) weeks. i also used to have peaks and lows when i was taking it every four weeks but every two weeks works great for me. you can do the injections by yourself and find a timing and dosage that works for you. (( nebido and gel are not covered by insurance where i live :/ ))

Does nebido have a higher testosterone content? We dont have it where I live(Ontario, Canada). I was prescribed .5ml every week, so I was shocked when you said you were given .6ml every 3 months.. I wouldnt mind going on gel, but it's so much more expensive

i've been doing gel for six months now, coming from pre-t i have nothing to compare with, but it is actually quite interesting to be the one to control your dosage, i mean: you are supposed to take it same hour everyday, but i am just not able of doing that. in extreme days in which i sleepover at someone's and i forget the gel, i take it the next day but instead of doing my regular pumps i get a bit less so that the day after i don't have that much extra testosterone, and I've been doing fine!! I feel like a cis man but with control over my gonads xdd

Your description of the working of nebido isn't at all accurate. Sustanon does work with a peak and a slow decrease, but that's not how Nebido works. Nebido slowly releases the same gradual amount of hormones over a three month period, just like gel except gel is every day

T gel is MAD INCONVENIENT i kinda wanna go to nbido ngl. I don't realllyyyy get why youd want to switch considering nbido doesn't give highs and lows and neither does gel. Thing is with gel you have to take it every day same time in the morning after a shower so no lie ins no mid day showers only nightime or first thing no swimming basically ever no staying over somewhere spontaneously youll have to go put in a perscription request each month then take the perscription to the chemist, it cant be done automatically becausd its a controlled substance then go pick it up three days later. So it take a while out of each month. Also takes about ten minutes each day to do thats with my one anyways also if you don't put it on properly it goes like flakey and falls off and goes everywhere. Also you can't touch people because you might get your t on them also watch you don't sweat it off. Also some gels only last about two weeks per bottle so youre gonna be doing that chemist thing a lot for them lol. Oh my god gel sucks so bad. Oh yeah and its like the same consistency as hand sanitizer so it can go quite messy and run down your skin and go on your clothes. It. Fucking. Sucks.
@Soulrollsdeep4 жыл бұрын
Lot of cluelessness in this video. Shots are far superior, in every conceivable way, than gels. Gels don't absorb at a sustained rate, injections do - if your levels aren't averaging out, the injections aren't at the right dose and/or frequency. Can't be arsed getting into the science of it, but you're wrong on that one.
