@jxpan24620 күн бұрын
What you said at 09:58 is so true, nowadays we consider religious people to be "boring" because they stay away from the things w we consider entertaining/desirable which are usually against islam or distract you from islam, for example music. So when we become more better muslims we worry that we will seem like that to people.
@hyphalknottt19 күн бұрын
spot on!! it's been an insecurity of mine for a long time but im realising that it's all complete BS anyway. everything that I want from being 'cool' or 'interesting' pales in comparison to what Allah promises us!
@hafsaabdullahi688717 күн бұрын
I stopped listening/caring about music a while ago and stopped doing a lot of things for the sake of Allah, and in doing so, i felt like I became this boring, unrelatable person. It can be lonely at times, especially living in the west but I try to remind myself constantly that it doesn't mean i'm boring. I'm just living my life in a way that pleases Allah swt.
@jxpan24617 күн бұрын
@@hafsaabdullahi6887 Really proud of you! It is hard to let go of music nowadays because you end up excluding yourself from what everyone else is doing like going on tiktok and understanding trends, but I guess that could be one of our trials nowadays, accepting that exclusion/loneliness to better our religion

Sis this is spot on! I’m 33 alhamdulilah i got a stable job in government. But i was raised on survival.. I worked hard got a house with my mom who raised us as a single mother. Now that im reaching this age. I always focused on other people and making sure they are good. Alhamdulilah last year i started my photography business while working full-time. And to just stop procrastinating . I want to achieve more iA with Allah swt help. But i had to set those boundaries to be no longer available to people as much on weekends. So i can focus on growing and being successful in this. 2025 its time to letting watching other people success stories and not building your own.

100 percent agree. Like many, I have come to accept that the habits that got me through the last few years, 'the loop', as you mentioned has hindered my growth and blinding my self-belief. Social-media doesn't help if you rely on living life through others, and not taking inspiration from it. JazakAllah kheir for this, you put into words what many of us are feeling at this moment. May Allah reward you!

YESSSSS ILYSM a big reason to this is TikTok it makes it seem like success is all about being rich traveling the world, or working for yourself by 20, but that’s not real life for most people. Success isn’t the same for everyone it could mean having a steady 9-to-5, spending time with family, or just being happy with where you are. The internet makes you feel like you’re behind if you’re not living this “perfect” life, but the truth is, success is personal. It’s not about what looks good online but it’s truly about what feels good to you. If you’re doing what matters to you and finding joy in it, you’re already winning in lifeeee.

literally its such a trip! im willing to bet a lot of people secretly have their own niche vision of success but they just never acknowledge it bc its too weird or “different” to the status quo. everyone is supposed to be hyper ambitious and go after the top salaries, positions, etc etc. im so over it, i just wanna focus on God & being the best human I can be 😭

I feel like you just read my journal and whats been going on in my mind for the last year.. ever since i did umrah in december 2023 and came back home i have been yearning for growth and positive change but i am purposely keeping myself small because of those comfortable habits and not wanting to disrupt my home environment. subhanallah.... i am scared to make change. but i also dont want what drives me to change only when something bad happens.
@hyphalknottt17 күн бұрын
subhanallah its craazyy how similar our experiences are… i had a similar inner transformation after doing umrah in 2023 for the first time! keep in mind change doesnt have to be drastic. you can commit to small but consistent things that will help move you forwards- it all makes a difference! for me it took a psychotic episode to realise that i really, REALLY needed to prioritise my healing (i made a video about it). but inshallah it wont get to that point for you. remember to keep praying and asking for guidance, He is always near and wants what’s best for you 💖 may Allah guide you and keep you STRONG!

Practice positive reinforcement. Our brains have plasticity and can form new structures and circuits. Don't focus too much on trauma, move from it. I am not denying it. I suggest you read "the courage to be disliked." You doing great. In sha Allah waad guuleysaneysa.

See you, you’re a breath of fresh air. You’ve reached a important point in your journey to enlightenment. I write this is as Somali man who resonates wholeheartedly with your thought process. Old habits and old ways no longer serve our true purpose. Once you reach situational awareness it is both a gift and curse that lives in a very peculiar place. Once we are aware to what matters and what it is ultimately good for us we can no longer go back to ourselves if we try to then we hinder our growth. This stage is when you turn from caterpillar to butterfly. It takes for us to hit our lowest points for us to realise the truth. I’m glad you’re healing, I’m glad you’re on your way to a more fulfilling life. Incorporate Salah, mindfulness, healthy eating into your life and you will flourish walal. Peace and love

My sincere advice would be to turn back to Allaah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Real success is not in worldly matters. Real success is all about what is our inner state when good or bad comes along. You can get out of deprived areas and move into more privileged areas but that does not mean you are on the road to success. This could be the road to failure. We need to start rethinking what is my ultimate goal and the rest will fall into place.

Masha Allaah, sister To make your own platform, I think the first thing you ask yourself is what is your intention? The second thing is knowledge. What knowledge or skills you have?
