Yeah, it’s annoying but I kind of understand why because in order to factory reset a Mac you have to reinstall the operating system. Thanks for watching.

You should open it up and put an ssd in it. It makes it much faster. I have a 27 inch running Sonoma with open core legacy patcher. It runs great! I have the 17 4770 cpu.There are many videos that show you how to put in an ssd in it. Its not hard.

You can, but of course, there is a risk that it’s not protected from a security issue if not receiving updates

I’m going to buy a 2013 imac. It has 24ram 1tb hdd. Do you think it is compatible for coding?

the ram will help a lot so should be ok

I bought a 2011 and swap out for an SSD, upgraded to 16 gibs ram then run Sonoma oclp and they work fine. I only use for Internet, browsing and watching movies also online meetings like Zoom and FaceTime work great. One of the most cost effective decisions for me
