iMac Black screen No display after accidental screen drop + Mail-ins

This is the first video I've seen on this topic that sounds like it actually relates to the issue I have with my own iMac 2010 21.5"! I like how you showed how loose the ribbon cable was under the scope and how you replaced the connector and damaged filter. I damaged my iMac in the same way - replacing the internal drive and the LCD fell forward and pulled the LVDS ribbon cable from the connector. The iMac works fine with an external display but I can't get the internal display to light up and wish I could mail it to you but transborder it would be costly. This iMac was given to me and is not my primary computer, so for now I will just use it with an external display. Thanks for an informative video!

My iMac 2011 21.5 inch same problem ,black display ,fan runs at full speed.I found near display connector R5280 ,R5281 no response with meter continuity mode .please help me how can I get that spare.?is there any alternate spare for this from any other device like pen drives sorry if I am wrong.

Same logic board all smd caps short beeping in both sides. No led lights on it all ..where should I start to find was causing everything is ground ??

What do you think would be the problem if all three indicator lights are lit, but the mac is not seeing the lcd. It is running with an external display, not not giving any option for the lcd display in the display utility.

My imac 27 2011 screen goes black while imac is still working ( Screen sharing to macbook still working too) .. when I press power button for 1s and click on the mouse screen came back on (sometimes i need to repeat it few times) ,,, I've done PRam and nvram reset ,imac was cleaned Gpu ,Pcu termal paste change but did not helped ... I m facing the same problem in my imac 2017 4k but the lvds connector on screen is loose and the lvds cable showing all points continous so i think cable is ok

Nice video! Btw i think that "filter" is a 0Ohm carbon oxide resistor most used in laptops motherboards to separate the power rails, when you´re looking for a short socket.

yes but the fan will run wild and youll probably be running at half speed. iMacs must have the internal screen attached.
