This game is stunning to look at and the gameplay doesn't disappoint. I agree with most of Zee's points here, though I think the aesthetics deserve a plus. The charcoalium pieces are so lifelike I looked for coal dust on my fingers after handling them. The wood, copper, and glass pieces look real. This game should be nominated for 'best art' category.

The artwork is extraordinary, and the gameplay seems compelling - more paths to victory than a Splendor or Spice Road. Can't wait for this to be released in the U.S.

This game is really fun. The limits imposed by the workshop and action wheel sizes/locations creates tough decisions.

Hello there!Thank you for the review in an EXTRAORDINARY GAME!! I have a question: if you combine 2or 3 green cards, which of their abilities will you use? If for example your first green card is the shield that protects you from all attacks, and then you gain the other green card that protects only from charcoalium theft. You have to put THAT last card on the top of the other and use only THAT ability or the other card too? And what about if you combine all three cards? Waiting for your answer!! Thank you in advance!

Looks interesting-- I'll probably get this one once it's generally available from US retail sources. But I love bizarre, quirky, disturbing, creepy artwork, so that's all a plus. I also like Spice Road, and this looks kind of like that combined with Abyss and worker placement-- and I've been looking for a good WP transition game, as I have a few of those that I've yet to get to the table-- my game crew yawns a bit with trading in the Mediterranean, or fantasy/D&D themes, so this could be the foot in the door. Also a big Cathala fan.

Was excited to back this on Kickstarter, but there a lot of people turning their back on the campaign since there are no stretch goals, and people are not finding it worth the wait for the included promos when they can order it from an online UK retailer for the same price and get it months earlier.

This game looks good, but I'm wondering how people are finding copies to play? I can't find it anywhere and even the entry on BGG is marked "unauthorized production.' Why is Zee (my favorite!) even reviewing a game nobody can get? Anyone have information availability?

Played it in a game day about 2 months ago. Fun game... don't mind the theme as much as the color palette of brown and gray. It's just so depressing. Otherwise a very solid game that "feels" like a third game in a trilogy alongside Five Tribes and Yamatai (i know not the same publisher). The same kind of puzzly gameplay that's prone to AP. Disclaimer: Five Tribes is my favorite game and Yamatai my second so i don't mind the AP tendencies. This however... is just not as good. Still fun... but i think the theme just drags it down immensely. The artwork and theme are super interesting and it is what drew me to the game in the first place, but it's just too weird and drab for the long run. It's one thing to make me play a mathematic/logic game in a cheerful amd colourful theme. It's another to make me play it in a bland one. This, despite it's weirdness, felt bland to me.

It's hideous. Looks like that old Michael Jackson video with the Elephant Man. Gameplay looks interesting, but I'm not crazy about the "ha ha I steal cubes from you" mechanic, which I generally hate in this sort of game.

I am not hyped about the game at all. Seems just too basic with a lot very special graphics. I am even not a big fan of the box in the middle. Seems to block line of sight. Rather a pass for me while I had higher hopes...

This game is unacceptably long for what it offers... First 2 players game took 90min (not counting rules)... I thought Zee would really mind this more... Too bad, I really wanted to like it but it become a quick "for sale" after a couple of plays... And the art gets very disturbing quite quickly... Very disappointed...

I really like the artwork, but the game play looks too much like a slog. There's a lot of games out there and quite a few in my collection, and a game that long is going to have some learning curve that will make the typical play overlong due to the need to learn and later, re-learn the rules (we don't play the same game every week, so people forget by the next time a given game hits the table)...

There is no game there in my view for not even 60min... It should be a 30-45min game max. As for the art there, it is disturbing to me and that is what matter (to me)...
