Big ed basically ruined his entire life by cheating on his first wife. They looked so cute in that picture together. If he remained faithful, he would've been able to happily grow old with her, his obesity probably wouldn't have happened because he was probably a stress eater, he would have a great relationship with his daughter and he probably wouldn't be such a bad person in general.
