Weird comparison tbh. I listened to Molder because of this video, but they are like complete opposite of the death metal spectrum from Blood Incantation. The album was really good though and I love the Obituary meets Autopsy vibe. But, BI are a different beast entirely. Call me basic, but Absolute Elsewhere is my favorite album of the decade so far. Metal or otherwise.

I have seen Molder twice and god damn. Hands down one of my favorite bands right now! I love old school death metal and they do a great job with keeping that old sound, yet adding a new twist to it! Their new record kicks ass, Molder rules! Great review!😈🤘🔥🪦

I’ve never listened to Molder, I gotta give it a spin now, thanks for making this video. Speaking of records that captured OSDM spirit… you can try Swiss band Vomitheist “NecroFuneral”. This debut is very good take on Swedish DM (spiced up with a but of Autopsy nastiness). Killer production, groovy tracks. Artwork pays tribute to crude and a bit silly hand drawings of Nicke from Nihilist / Entombed. Neat Dracula 1992 OST reference at the end of an album, which kinda mirrors “Phantasm” reference on the “Left Hand Path”. I really enjoyed that one, I hope Vomitheist will get more recognition.

I get that you like the style more but in no way does the album beat BI. The songwriting on that album is top notch and it's not my album of the year.

Yeah ngl wasnt a huge fan of the proggy direction BI took, would of somewhat preferred them to be more straight and brutal as i feel their earlier releases also lack a certain punch or like well to me they sound kinda flat… was kinda hoping all the hype was down to them finally getting the sound right 😂 and tbf to the production, that seems on point with their new album and addressed the issue but the song writing for me ruins the vibes for me personally 🤷‍♂️ I understand why they might want to try something different; which has seemed to pay off for them - for me, I don’t dislike it, just thought it could of been better and i agree having a more Molder approach would of been better imo 🤷‍♂️
