Immediate Denture/RPD Jaw Relationship Record Fabrication

Here is a simple method to capture a maxillomandibular relationship. Often, it's easy to pullout the Blue Mousse and spray it everywhere intraorally. The problem is that when you go to mount the casts, it can be fairly unstable - ie the casts are still wobbly when you articulate them together. The denture base and wax rim relationship record is a standard technique used in complete dentures, removable dentures...essentially, it can be used in any partial/fully edentulous patient that does not have a minimum of 3 points of contact to articulate casts.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But its best to have ideal wax rims because it allows you to establish and maintain your VDO while setting your denture teeth. You typically only are removing a small section of the wax to allow room for your bite reg. Depending on the order that you set your teeth, it is best for the rim to be in occlusion while you are setting anterior teeth allowing the rims to maintain your VDO in the posterior

Hi how about you take a face bow record then use an Ivoclar centric tray you place a dot on the patinet's nose and one on the chin get them to say m measure the distance between the two points if they are an Angles classification of malocclusion a class 1 then you have established the campers line the freeway space can be established and you have the balkwill angle this will give you the correct tooth selection for the poster teeth and you have the patient in the correct bonwill triangle this then establishes the plane of occlusion and you can set the denture teeth with a fixed template in relation to the occlusion will take the guess out of the process and save you a lot of time.

Jamie i think that was the previous procedure, for creating the master cast, where the lab now is preparing the occlusion rims😀 to establish occlusal relationship

Are you using alginate type of impression material? or silicon material

What's the point of having the perfect occlusion w/ wax rim if we are going to carve it down for bite registration material anyway?

Joon Kim I think no need to make these additional step But for most accurate registration We can use inlay wax occlusion rim is much more accurate than the wax in the video

don't you think it would've been better/ more accurate if u had taken the bite registration inside of the patient mouth? im sure it would be 110% more stable
