For many years, no major nation wants to sign a free trade agreement with ASEAN and only China proposed the framework that today, witness the effectiveness of trade flow and growth that propel ASEAN to becoming a pivotal hub that could rival EU growth in next 10-15 years. The west is shocked and certainly formulate Asia-NATO in QUAD or indo-pacific alliances to contain the growth of China and Asean, and as a benefactor of the stimulus injected by China-Asean relationship, Asean will unite and ensure no proxy war of any kind shall prevail here that to destabilise our motherland.

Some statistic --> In year 2000 the United States trade with the 10 asean countries was $135 billion dollars and China was only $40 billion dollars. But year 2022 even though the United States trade with the 10 Asean countries has gone up to $450 billion dollars. China's trade with asean has gone from $40 billion to $975 billion dollars!!! China observes international trade norms and the rules of market economy, relies on their mega-size market, complete range of supporting industries, rich human resources and full market competition. These are all China’s comparative advantages. The US overstretches the concept of national security on economy and trade, and disrupts normal international trade by engaging in decoupling and severing of supply chains and building “small yards with high fences.” It also adopted the Inflation Reduction Act and other measures to subsidize specific US industries, and included in the Act a large number of discriminatory arrangements targeting foreign companies, and in particular measures to restrict and keep out China. Aren’t these moves-moves that promote de-globalization, exclude competition and violate the law of market economy-aimed at seeking unfair advantage? Apart from blaming China, the US itself has been saying one thing and doing another. This is typical double standard and bullying. US need to respect the law of market economy, observe international trade rules, stop irresponsible smears and vilification, stop overstretching the concept of national security, and correct its non-market policies and practices.

India has border issues with Pakistan and Nepal, and previoulsy habe border issue with Bhutan, Siri lanka and Bangladesh. 5. Between Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei, Vietnam, Philpines, there are also border/martime disputes. 6. Japan has martime/border dispute with South Korea / North Korea / Russia also. 7. none of the above disputes was resolved through ICC. Many of these disputes are result of colonization, and unlike other asean countries, Philipine is still colonized by the states and want to join the confict between China and USA.
