20 years later and I still can't believe Parramatta lost. The best side that year by a mile, mostly youngsters sprinkled with some great veterans and they totally choked in the first half. 2005 was almost as bad but 2001 it was on a platter.

The big money is going to come in for the guys just behind Cleary, as it always does and they'll have to rebuild. Happened in 2001, will here also. Too many good players, Crichton, Edwards etc.

It was the first of the night grand finals if i can remember right. All i can remember from that night after the loss is walking out of Parramatta leagues in tears. Dam what a massive lost opportunity for the eels. We broke a lot of records that year as a team. A lot like Penrith has done this year but we didn't dominate like Penrith has this year,. Geez time go by so fast.
