I seem to remember Sagar Shah mentioning several years ago that Chithambaram was an incredibly strong player who he felt could easily rise to be the best player in India, but Chithambaram left the game for a few years for reasons unknown, truncating his progress; he only recently took it up again, and here we see that Sagar wasn't kidding. Aravindh is indeed a force to be reckoned with.

Glad to see Aravindh getting some big wins, since he is not as well known as others outside India. Being a two time national champion and kind of "senior" generation to the youngsters, he deserves these opportunities to be competing with 2700 guys. Hope he gains more rating and more such chances to compete with super GMs.

It's probably in nature of Croatian spoken language that Indian names are easy to learn. We mostly put accent on first syllables(sometimes second in longer words) plus we pronounce words, especially those with "R" a lot harder than Anglo-Saxons, but Agadmator worked a lot on his English pronunciations as well so you can't notice it. 👍

But, remaining true to your instinct is hard these days. Champion stuff. I'm sure he'll bounce back like nothing ever happened. I'm glad that the loss came against another Indian, who also deserves all the attention. He's late, but he's arriving as well. And we've barely scratched the surface. Loads of other Indian kids are also coming. Finally as an Indian chess enthusiast, I'm cherishing the global attention for India, after so many years of following the lone wolf Vishy!
