As a slightly older gent I most defiantly wouldn't put my pride and joy through that punishment, would love to drive a rental down there though. Well done on making it, love the films buddy. Watching from the Scottish Highlands.

You were so very right to say that truck is a work horse. Great driving in awful conditions. I still think some tire company should give you four new tires for the Truck House Christmas gift.🎄

Yet again.........Nice F---ing work! I've had all my rigs over Imogine. Usually as a loop coming from The Bear. I had a trip like yours one year. Not in my big truck, but my TJ with a RTT. At the pass below Fort Peabody there....same thing, snow moving in. Keeeeee Ripes ! Same plan, get lower ! I had NOAA on and knew it was going to be the first snow on the pass for the year. So I dropped 2000 feet to set up a camp, in hopes of going back up in the morning to get a snow shot on Imogene. Well the snow moved in as grouple, melting making the trail wet. That was followed by freezing temps turning wet to ice, covered by snow. A no go to get back up in the morning......but.......the most stunning beautiful white sunny landscape in the morning. Still worth it ! And another time, camped a few miles up from Ouray, and witnessed a waste management truck go off the road and tumble 700 feet down into the river. (Im a career FF/medic). My friends and I sprung into action, I got down to the driver and stabilized, and my friends directed Ouray Rescue down to us. Good outcome on that one. Backs up the story you were eluding to on just how easy, yet dangerous Camp Bird Road is. Ill tell you that story over a beer sometime. Currently refreshing the entire front end of my Ram for the next 150K of adventure..... PEACE ! Oh.....and I love that term you coined....... "The Death Rock"...... I have experienced this situation you speak of with my camper rig in crazy places...... puts poopie in the pants for sure ..... hehehe..... Merry & A Happy 2023 !

21 👍 Breathtaking! Many years ago I was in Ouray and saw a sign on this road. “You don’t have to be crazy to take this road, but it helps.” Driving a Thunderbird, naturally I passed. Now, years later, I saw what that sign meant. Thanks for posting this video.

Been going over Imogene in the 70s. Love it. If you hang out at the top the airplanes will fly into telluride. Telluride still uses a Tesla generator. All them trails in the San Juan use to be more fun before they started grooming them for tourists
That beast of yours just completed yet another hair pass most should have not or were too afraid to do yee-ha.

I did Titus Canyon in Death Valley with my Dodge 2500 long bed crew cab and camper. Titus Canyon is one way only (no turning back allowed). I questioned my decision when I pulled over to let someone pass and they stop and roll down their window and also questioned my decision. 🙃 Titus Canyon is not hard with a short wheel base. But I squeaked through and I haven't done anything like that again.

I only have 2 questions: 1. How do you and your balls fit in that truck? 2. (on a more serious note) What kind of insurance do you have on the truck and camper? I'd be scared to death I'd drop my multi-thousand dollar goin-ta'-town rig off the side of a cliff. Of course, I suppose if I did, I wouldn't care too much about the money at that point, 'cause I'd be at the bottom of the cliff in a million pieces along with it.
