Love Mojotone, that power tube's 5w cathode resistor is going to get very hot and cook that capacitor underneath it. Try placing them side by side with spacing for good ventilation.

I think you may be the man that wound my jazzmaster set with black cover last fall . If so thank you my harnesses is pre wired- shielded still not assembled as it takes time using quality parts. Going to be awesome jazzmaster build.

Thanks Andy, learning a lot from you! Curious why you didn't solder the leads in this first (and only) time?

Why Mojotone keeps the original spacing between eyelets when the resistors you include in the kits have shorter leads and need to be mounted on the leads of a cap? Having the 5W resistor closely attached to the cap won't cause issues due to heat?

Hello, for your first question, the original Allen Bradley resistors are about an inch longer than the current prod. ones. As for the second question, That 5w cathode resistor should never repeatedly get so hot as to ruin the cap if it does, there is more to worry about than the cap. But, no we have never seen a cap failure due to the resistor heat in regular operation. - Mojo Team

I'd recommend adding stress relief to your component leads. Looks like only the big orange drops have that. All of them need it if they are thermal cycling.
