Zaheer's line, "we lucky few, this band of brothers and sisters of anarchy," is an allusion to the line, "we happy few, we band of brothers," from the St. Crispin's Day Speech from William Shakespeare's Henry V. Korra's battle with Zaheer recalls several elements from the battle at Wulong Forest, such as the fact that both conflicts occurred in the Earth Kingdom in a field of rock columns, portions of which were used in offensive maneuvers. Additionally, both combatants in each fight were capable of flying by using airbending, like Aang and Zaheer, or firebending, like Ozai and Korra. Kya attempted to heal Korra after she was poisoned, without much success. This is the 100th episode of the franchise.

Korra crying is such a powerful scene and so reflective of her charter. Unlike Aang, she always WANTED to be the Avatar. unlike Aang, her world was one of relative peace. Plus without war and persecution, people are free to bend and there is all this technology. So her role as the Avatar was viewed differently than Aang's. And she was at first beaten by all her enemies when they arose. And this made her insecure. You saw that in her delirium. She saw all her past enemies taunting her about how in this new world Avatar isn't needed anymore. That she is replaceable and people can do without her. And this scene? It just proved it to her. Look Airbenders are there and TAKING OVER HER DUTIES. They are going to do what SHE IS SUPPOSED TO DO. Because she's in a wheelchair and weakened. and then there's Jinora WHO LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE AANG IT HURTS. Korra does look up to Aang the most of all the other Avatars. We see that in that opening shot with the statue. She wanted to be the next Aang, but she's in a wheelchair, and then there is this little Airbender girl, who saved her twice with her spiritual powers and cleverness. and this girl looks like Aaang. This is such a good scene and such good writing..

We already saw the journey of getting them all with Aang so the writers didn’t want us to watch the same thing again, but it did make it feel less meaningful that she got them with no effort. However, that also lends to the idea of her being the complete opposite of Aang. There’s a lot of pros and cons.

Not only is Korra unable to act as the Avatar with her body messed up, but the first thing she hears is that her friends are basically going to replace her, as far as the Avatar's peacekeeping duties. For a person who basically based her entire identity around being the Avatar, that had to be rough. The airbenders being aircops is definitely an unambigious good, and I'm sure Korra is happy for them. But it's gotta be stabbing her on the inside too.
@jos-josradvanji62033 жыл бұрын
Ye and I am sure Korra feels like they are just pittying her which for a stubborn/head through the wall type like her must feel horrible. @Kidapollo923 жыл бұрын
While hallucinating, Korra sees visions of her previous opponents; Amon was the primary antagonist in Book One: Air, while Unalaq and Vaatu served as antagonists in Book Two: Spirits. During their battle, Ghazan recalls his previous duel with Bolin in "The Stakeout". Zaheer attempted to kill Korra with the same technique he used to kill Hou-Ting in "Long Live the Queen". President Raiko remarks that his last meeting with the Avatar did not "end on the best terms", referring to when he banished her from Republic City in "A Breath of Fresh Air". Lin's use of earthbending to lift a platform and scale a flight of stairs recalls a similar move her mother used to scale the flights of stairs outside of the Earth Kingdom Royal Palace in "The Earth King". Tenzin decides to anoint Jinora as an airbending master, an action he began to consider following the events of "Original Airbenders". Korra's outfit at Jinora's airbending master ceremony is similar to the one she wore to the party Tarrlok held in her honor in "The Voice in the Night".

If y'all don't understand why Korra cried at the end: Imagine being told your whole life "no one needs you anymore," or that the world would not care if you're gone. Korra knew she's the Avatar, at a very young age (s1ep1), and knows that the Avatar has a responsibility to bring balance and harmony to the world (s3ep2), but everytime she brings balance to the world, many people, antagonist included, lets her know that no one needs the Avatar anymore. When Amon took her bending away, that led her to only bend air and at the end season 1, which ultimately led Korra to contemplate su*c*de. Her uncle destroyed Rava so that he could become the new Avatar. And now this episode, a near death experience during the Avatar cycle. I believe the worst part was Tenzin telling Korra that he and the Air Nation will do everything in their power to "follow in your footsteps, and bring harmony to the world." Tenzin's intention was to help the Avatar, but due to Korra's compounding traumas over these last few months, she perceived that no one needs her anymore. As a result, the ending scene.

Korra’s avatar state is actually the strongest because she fused with prime raava. If she wasn’t poisoned, she smoking red lotus pack in minutes

We just got used to the protagonist being saved by plot armor we don't notice it, but zaheer got literally save with plot armor, if the poison didn't kick in while zaheer was being pulled down by his iced feet, he is probably black and blue by an enraged korra.

@@greatwhitesufi canon, the avatar power came from raava, and wan bonded with a raave that could fit in a tea kettle. During Harmonic convergence, Korra bonded with a raava that is probably 20-30 times larger, so yeah she is more powerful than any avatar that exist.

8:11 _"Did he do that before?"_ He worked at the power plant back in season one shooting lightning into a generator for hours to try to earn enough money to enter the pro-bending tournament, so... yes, quite a bit.

I like to believe Bolin was more suited to Lava bending because he has Firebender blood/lineage in him. Sorta makes him even closer to his brother in a way when you think about it.

That's what I always thought too.

this was such an awesome finale and they really brought it with the animation in the battle, it was very cinematic. also cried so hard at the end, just being super proud of jinora and in pain for korra

This show's good at reminding us not every ending is happy. Zaheer laughing always felt out of character but then again he was locked up for years and finally thought he achieved his goals

I have a sense that he is a coward, his fighting style is to run and run to enemies who he know is stronger that him, tenzin and korra. He only get close to korra when she was paralyzed, tied in chain, or poisoned. His calmness is fake. So when everything falls out, he had a breakdown.

what? he made a ball of the elements. That's one of the coolest scenes in the entire series

ATLA finale was a bit underwhelming for me, like once A.S. hits it is all over. I was under the impression that the creators just wanted to finish atla and get on with their life because of how easy the ending was. So i was surprise they created another avatar. But now, it seems the creators are really intelligent guys base on the interviews, i cannot wait what kind of world building they will add to avatar universe. I will be so stoked if they make the earth avatar a woman that looks like asami.

Flying is not just a bending ability. Its a state of mind. You must be free from all of your worldly attachments like Zaheer or Guru Laghima.

I actually would've liked it more if Mako tried to use lightning bending on her before this fight to see how Ming Hua would cope with this kind of battle. So in their final battle, she's gonna have something up her sleeve to fight against Mako.
@Gu3ssWhatsN3XT3 жыл бұрын
Mako's been a lightning bender since well probably since before season 1 even began. He was working at a power plant during the first season but as for bolin i'm sure he was only earth bending because he didn't know quite yet how to produce his own lava to bend it so he could only bend it if it were available to him such as in the fight
@Underdraker3 жыл бұрын
Mako could always lightning bend, he did earlier in the series working in the factory.
