Korra grabbing Zaheer with the chain: “here’s ur earthly tether”
@partypiano07293 жыл бұрын
Literally though. In the previous episode there are close ups of ropes to the airship getting cut (untethered) - and then Zaheer flies. Zaheer talks about freedom then chains and jails people. Him getting chained and slammed and captured to the earth is all part of the irony. It's like a visual essay.

Korra's tear at the end shows us that her biggest fears have become true, because they don't need an avatar anymore. Every villain she has come across has been a threat to her identity, as Amon tried to take away her bending, Unalaq trying to destroy her connection to her past lives and Zaheer nearly destroying the avatar cycle. All the villains she has come across have made her think that is she really needed in the world as the avatar. Now she's there crippled, traumatised and had probably has PTSD. Then comes the airbenders telling her that they can maintain peace and balance, and they won't need her until she gets better and her biggest fears have come true.

This episode further proves my point that Zaheer could not beat Korra in a one-on-one fight. Literally every time they thought, there was some sort of handicap on her. First time, she got hit with a tranquilizer and couldn't move. Second time, she was in Platinum chains and was still holding her own. This time, she was chained up and has mercury in her veins, and what happens? She holds off poisoning and the Avatar stay with pure willpower, and when she finally goes in, yanks one of the chains straight from the side of the cave, knocks out two of them in the process, snaps Platinum chains what they're linked paper clips, and still damn near kills this wannabe air anarchist. Zaheer went through all this trouble because he knows damn well when it comes down to it, he can't beat her. And I honestly hope they use the here in a comic later on down the line and Korra addresses this exact point.
@Kidapollo923 жыл бұрын
Zaheer's line, "we lucky few, this band of brothers and sisters of anarchy," is an allusion to the line, "we happy few, we band of brothers," from the St. Crispin's Day Speech from William Shakespeare's Henry V. Korra's battle with Zaheer recalls several elements from the battle at Wulong Forest, such as the fact that both conflicts occurred in the Earth Kingdom in a field of rock columns, portions of which were used in offensive maneuvers. Additionally, both combatants in each fight were capable of flying by using airbending, like Aang and Zaheer, or firebending, like Ozai and Korra. Kya attempted to heal Korra after she was poisoned, without much success. This is the 100th episode of the franchise.

I think it's incredibly impressive how Mako fared against Ming-hua(?). Like the gang here pointed out, he purposely avoided using lightning to trick her, and used his intellect rather than pure skill to defeat her. I think Mako *did* get lucky that she didn't have more easy access to water in the beginning of their fight, but it's seriously impressive Mako was able to 1v1 her, something *no one* else was able to do with any of the Red Lotus members.
