If I had to pick just one regrettable thing about the first season of Korra it's that we never got any kind of back story on Amon's main henchman. There's obviously some history there. The man followed Amon like a religinut and he was clearly heartbroken and betrayed when the truth about Amon was revealed. As Doug keeps pointing out, time that was wasted on the pro-bending or the love triangle, could've been spent on a character that actually deserved it. I can't even remember if we learn that guy's true name. Worst opportunity waste EVER!

+101Swiftflick I think you're right. In the last episode when the lutenant takes of his mask, I noticed he looks a lot like some decentent of DjongDjong from ATLA. He was Aangs first firebending teacher and also had some hatred owards bending. He called his firebending a curse and I thought maybe some of this hatred towards the damage bending can do passed on to his son or something..

Back when it was first airing me and my brother came up with a theory that there was 2 Amon's, and I'm gonna fuck up these names. Tarrilock and Yucoan, and when Amon took away Tarrilock's bending was Yucoan punishing Tarrilock for letting his secret out.

Okay, now I'm wondering, how old did you read Iroh? I thought he looked about mid-twenties. You talk about his design as if you think he's much older, like late-thirties maybe? When you mentioned, he needed to look 10 years younger for the voice/looks combo to work I was thinking "he needs to look 14? Whut?" :P
