Are we sure Ephesians is talking about modern-day English words that didn't exist back then that society now deems as bad? In some countries, doing a thumbs up is a cuss word, in others, it's not...
@ephraimnatsarim9 ай бұрын
People don’t care anymore that words have meanings. They think forever means temporary. They think Yeshua changed who God is. They think Yeshua died so that they can worship pagan gods like santa claus and easter bunnies, eat pork and break the sabbath. Forever means forever. Perpetual. Eternal. Exodus 31:16 Some popcorn preacher tells them Christmas isn’t pagan and they just believe it. No problem. I can’t wait for this world to end. No more common sense. Is that bad? Conclusion means final, end of discussion. Oh but that’s Old Testament. Baby Christmas Jesus did away with all that. Zero understanding of scripture. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Here Yeshua is literally saying that he is teaching the exact same thing the prophets were teaching. And they still won’t believe. Luke 16:31 They are their own gods. Using his name in vain. Making up their own laws as they go. The “law of love” which is exactly the same law as Satans kingdom. They can’t see that Yahs love is the commandments. They don’t want to be in bondage to Yah. Matthew 15:9 These people are not our brethren. Matthew 12:48-50 We want them to be but they just reject their messiahs teachings. Reducing him to a splat of blood that’s given them excuses to continue to sin. Hebrews 10:26 Totally ignoring the hard parts. 1 John 3:4 You ask them what sin is, they can’t answer. Sorry about that. Sometimes I feel defeated. Like what’s the point. No one listens. Eyes so full of planks they can’t see two feet in front of them. Loving their pagan lawless ways.

The Christian church is apostate and against the 10 commandments. They teach the opposite of what the Messiah did, preaching faith alone, OSAS, pretrib rapture nonsense, and they're promoting pagan idolatry like Christmas and Easter. Google the origins of these holidays, it's all ancient Roman and Babylonian god worship that the Lord hates, found nowhere in the Bible. If you want to be saved then you need to actually start obeying the instruction of God, which means not being a partaker of this stuff and keeping the 10 commandments. The church follows the Roman Empire's 321 AD Sunday law instead of the actual Saturday Sabbath commandment, which is the same problem Christ had with the Pharisees: Mark 7:6-7 King James Version 6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. We're supposed to follow the Messiah in truth. Flee from the lies of the church and repent. We can't break the Sabbath, eat abominations like pork and shellfish, or be a partaker of worldly idolatry. Yeshua, the Messiah, taught you how to be great in the kingdom: Matthew 5:19 King James Version 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Loving your neighbor means to rebuke sinners so they repent: Leviticus 19:17-18 King James Version 17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. 18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord. But the hippie Jesus church prefers tolerance which is why they're going to be destroyed.

A short prayer that I regularly include at many points in my day is a variant on Psalm 19:14 that I heard my pastors and teachers say: "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Oh Lord, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen." Not only asking God for help with your speech, but reminding yourself that you want to change your speech for God is a heavy motivator spiritually. My regular prayer in the morning tends to be the Lord's Prayer into Psalm 19:14 and then into my own prayer for the morning. I find that structure, meditating on those first 2 prayers, saying them meaningfully/slowly/with purpose helps to prep me for my personal words with our God.

This one really strikes the nail on the head for all of them. Buckle up! “But the words you speak come from the heart-that’s what defiles you.” Matthew 15:18 and the next verse after “For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.” Matthew 15:19 You might yell “Jesus Christ!”, but to say so without regard in your heart, you belittle our Lord and Savior. To yell sexual slang, you have it in your heart. And from the heart, comes such thoughts. If our heart can corrupt the mind and not the other way around according to Jesus, we can emphasize something Jesus tells us: “Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” Matthew 6:21 NLT If your eyes, as Jesus says, are not healthy and fill your being where your heart resides, how deep is that darkness! (Matthew 6:22-23)

It's important to note that there isn't a "list" of swear words either. It's moreso dependent on the intent of the word itself, meaning any word has the potential to be a swear.

This. I have sadly heard many of our brothers and sisters in the faith tear people down with "clean" words. The words we call curse words, at the core, are words... We can choose all sorts of words, whether clean in the traditional sense, or cuss words, and use them in a negative way. The long and short of it is, we need to be mindful of what comes out of our mouths, period. Avoiding a small subset of words is not a pass to use all other words for negative purposes.

As someone who will be taking himself into the career of a VTuber someday. Thank you for these honorable points to follow. I also knew substitution of words seems wrong itself. Given the example of even if we look at someone with lust. I attribute that with substitution of cursed words. I feel like it's how it's intended to be said rather than just the flatness of the word. Words DO mean something, and I hope and pray I can correct it someday. I abstain to curse against our creator, but I am currently working on worldly cursed languages. If any brothers or sisters are reading this, also note that "Treat others the way you want to be treated" should reflect on what you say too. As I am still convicted by this. And I offer hugs too! Jesus, thank you for this message, for I know it's something I needed to hear and work on. May God give us all Grace and Peace, and thank you for improving our lives. Amen!

Maybe instead of praying the harmful words away, make a deal with yourself. Think of a close friend or relative that needs Jesus. Every time you find yourself cussing, stop and pray for that person’s soul. If evil temptation causes you to pray for a loved one, then Satan will stop tempting you in that way. This strategic type of prayer works for all kinds of temptations. And praying for lost souls is a bonus. Win / win situation.

I feel like if we're true believers of God, conviction ells us not to swear. It could just be because swearing is known to be "unkind", but if we were to truly use our words to build one another up, and not tear one another down, we shouldn't be using any kind of foul language, let alone swearing; and I've been swearing a lot when I was younger, but I just stopped after knowing God. I didn't make a commitment to stop, I just naturally stopped. And I told my friend(s) to do the same - that friend later stopped swearing for God. Hallelujah.
@Threlkissimo10 күн бұрын
@@dekka4433 Interesting, because I talk to Jesus on a daily basis and we have a very deep relationship, but I also swear everyday… so I’m not a true believer of God?
@dekka443310 күн бұрын
@ Not suggesting that anyone who does swear isn’t a believer, but i think it parallels with what the Bible says about salvation. Works don’t lead to salvation (Eph. 2:8-9) but works is a “natural product”, lets say, of saving faith, that is a requirement for salvation (Jam. 2:26). In the same way I cannot say one is a believer or not based on if they swear or not, but being safe by abstaining from it, is definitely not a bad step that a person with saving faith might take. I believe that there are some people out there who swear regularly and are still saved, but I don’t see a reason to do it if I know God wouldn’t tell me to do it, which in my perspective, brings me closer to being like Jesus. Hope that makes sense; please correct me if I’m wrong :)
@Threlkissimo10 күн бұрын
@ On the contrary, I don’t see a reason not to swear if God doesn’t tell me not to swear. There is nothing inherently evil with swear words… it’s only the context that can give it the power to tear someone down, and you can say the most evil of things without saying a single swear word. I don’t see any scripture that is against swear words… I only see scripture that speaks on lifting others up and not tearing them down. I don’t believe that cursing is a sin at all, but I believe if you decide to curse then you should be mindful of who you’re doing it around because it’s not always received well.
