@timmasters1195 vault hunters is his passion project. That's completely different. You really don't pay attenti9n if you don't understand the burnout thr hermits have faced. They have all repeatedly said. " the feeling of having to build bigger and top last season became a burden." That's paraphrased but is essentially what EVERY hermit has said when talking about burnout on the HC server
@timmasters1195
@timmasters1195 15 күн бұрын
@@Trauma284 weird, I watch several hermits and it is definitely it true to say they have all said it, it very much varies. The ones who talk about it tend to have very little to compare it to in terms of real life work experience, like Grian and Mumbo, or at least that's how it seems from what they say.
@Trauma284
@Trauma284 15 күн бұрын
@timmasters1195 I hadn't thought of that. And that seems pretty true. I guess the ones I pay more attention to are the ones closer to my age. @@MoonyFBM actually, without us, they don’t pay bills. It’s US watching their videos, it’s US watching streams, it’s US watching sponsored ads, it’s US buying merch, it’s US subscribing. Also, Iskall ever since Season 7 has missed SUBSTANTIAL periods of time, and nobody got a heads up. Plenty of other Hermits actually care about their viewers and let them know up front that they’re taking a break, or will miss a stream, or videos will be slow for a little while. Shit like that takes 5 mins to convey. Anything updates that Iskall would eventually give, would be buried in a 6hr Vault Hunters stream. So, if you aren’t a fan of VH, you NEVER received that information.

Years later, I still play, I still watch, and it makes me feel like it's okay to be an "older" person who is part of this community. It's so much more than a video game. For "today" this is good and I hope it continues to build communities, servers, videos, podcasts. Young, older, in Australia or Canada, in the UK or US, anywhere, there's content to connect with and it really does make a difference.

I'd imagine careful consideration of what you're making and how it'll hold up is important. Like a caserole or lasagna could probably be prepped then finished in the oven a few days later without getting weird. Stuff like seafood, on the other hand, would need to be start of the week since it doesn't last. You could probably season some vegetables all at once then toss them in the oven for a fresh cook each day as well.
@pencils7351

There's two tricks I use 1. Just prep something you don't mind eating often. I've been living off of grilled leftover hotdogs for a while now, still hasn't gotten old lol (we grill some every week). I'm a bit of a picky eater tho, not everyone can deal with that little variety of even a favorite dish 2. Prep something that can become many different dishes. This is called ingredient prepping. For us, that often means our meat. Cutting an entire pork loin into porkchops or cubes, freeze what you won't eat that night, and then it takes the 10 minutes to cook the meat alongside whatever sauce/veggies sound good. Rice is also very versatile and easy to do, mostly needing the initial time. We buy a lot of steamable frozen vegetables, ready in minutes. Ingredient prepping is closer to what professional chefs do, and I can attest to how good the method is

So excited to see Iskall on the podcast!! Maybe I'm biased as someone who's rabidly into VH, the VHSMP, and Iskall's stuff, but I never tire of listening to him talk. This entire episode went by so fast without me noticing, you all have such a natural rapport AND humour that bounce off each other so well. I had to keep it down in the office quite a few times listening, cause I was laughing aloud a damn lot. Entirely unsurprised that all of you meshed so well so early on. Time zones are the worst if they're what's keeping us from more collabs between the three of you, no matter what game or activity it is. I'd probably watch anything, though Skizzhunter or Quake showdowns would be terribly entertaining, ha. Impulse describing how playing Vault Hunters completely sucks you in, where all you want to do is play more, is so relatable. Iskall and the VH dev teams have made a game that is really well crafted to stimulate the reward center of the brain. I remember Iskall mentioning at one point that he wanted everything in the pack to feel fun or satisfying, from sound design to the challenge, and they have really nailed it. But on top of that, as a fairly new viewer, I have noticed that Iskall is *really* good at engaging with an audience about the modpack. Anyone who watches his vodskall channel or streams likely knows, but he manages to make entertaining content out of the game development process, acknowledging feedback and balancing, or even bringing more attention to the modpack itself via his own talent for streams, youtube videos, or collecting a varied group of personalities for the Vault Hunters SMP and Hermitcraft Vault Hunters series. I have sunk a ridiculous amount of hours into the game, and yet still watch so many streams and VODs and videos about VH too. And even if there's a lot of hardworking and talented people that contribute to its success, I really do think Iskall deserves credit for creating and fostering such an engaging game and community. Hearing that he has a background in event management and marketing makes so much sense. If nothing else, the Vault Hunters SMP is an impressive cast of folk from all across the minecraft community and all kinds of different niches, and not just the usual hermitcraft adjacent creators. I'd love to see more eyes on some of the members. For anyone who hasn't checked his other stuff out, or even the modpack itself, I really recommend it. Honestly, knowing that you guys have a shared background in technology, it'd be fascinating to hear your collective insight about the overlap between the more corporate world of tech compared to the world of minecraft, streaming, KZbin, and modpack development. What skills carried over and helped, particularly when navigating a world that requires you to basically do your own project management and marketing? What overlap surprised you, and what differences surprised you? Is there a culture shock moving over and a bunch of code switching you had to do, especially for Skizz who was only recently doing both at once? Did that prepare you for not only building a widely popular modpack, but also the negotiations likely required to make a standalone *and* potentially get it setup on the Minecraft shop in future? Maybe I'm unique in being curious about all that! Having Iskall on was a great way to pressure test the more unplanned format of a podcast y'all mentioned previously though. Loved every bit of it, and he's right: you guys are awesome at naturally guiding it along. Can't wait for next week's episode! Gets me through the Friday workday every week. 💚

As technology can be quite broad, it would be difficult to share their experiences in a time efficient manner. However, I would be interested in Iskall streaming some type of modding deep dives. Quite skeptical that he knows enough about modding to even attempt, and to prematurely announce, a standalone game. A proof of concept 2D game would be a good start.

Again I’m demanding Iskall be in the life series. Knowing full well he probably always had an opportunity to join and the reason it didn’t workout probably still exists but I feel like Iskall would thrive in that environment. Kind of like a stone cold Steve Austin character where the character is just going out and essentially being who you are in a way.

Iskall has said the reason he isn't in the series: he hasn't been invited. He said that series is Grian's series and he is allowed to invite whomever he wants. He also mentioned that he might not enjoy it.

as someone who only started watching Hermitcraft this season, the energy between all of you really is something special. It feels like a community and that all the little strings of different dynamics between every person is so solid and it translates through to the viewers very very well. I've told my mom that i now basically just watch Hermitcraft content instead of TV bc watching real people interact and have fun is far more engaging and encouraging to see then just another scripted show. =)

I have been wanting an Imp and Skizz SkyVault series since the day I learned about SkyVaults, and watching Skizz get excited about Vault Hunters just makes me want it even more! You guys are great at Skyblock, and genuinely I think the two of you doing SkyVaults would be perfect!

As an older watcher (52), who is very new to MC and only found HC halfway through last season, I have to say I very much love how S10 is going. I only watched a few people last season, but felt overwhelmed by the builds because I had the hardest time making just a house lol. This season, the smaller builds have been so inspirational because I’m better now and I can do something like them. And I also love just watching you all hangout because everyone is hilarious and 100 times better to watch than any sitcom on tv. I used to think that watching people play a video game was the stupidest thing in the world. But I love the hermits. ❤

I love this podcast! I know that there are a lot of hermits and that they are all very good at what they do but I haven't followed all of them. Watching this podcast and finding out more about them has driven me to follow more of them and I am loving it! Wish I was half as talented as them, but man they are fun to watch!

Season 8 or 9 experienced such impactful decisions moving forward. The loss of TFC from the server created a transformational impact for the entire community. His death triggered several members' realization of what it meant to lose a fellow gamer/Hermit. When Mumbo Jumbo followed with his decision to take a few months off from the game due to the "pressure". Everyone took a step back in their playstyle/life behaviors/priorities. Grief has a different effect on everyone.
