I’m actually on the other side of that Atlantic Nigel.. i did most repairs in Almerimar because we wintered there for a few years.. the videos are always a few months old by the time I’ve edited them!

How many times did our water pumps break on our cars? Never happened to me and it’s forty years I drive around. And just checked, a new water pump for my terrestrial Volvo is about 50 euro. With the pulley for the belt. So sad we people with a boat are at such extent cheated by nautical companies.

That rubber impeller for the water pump circulates the salt water through the heat exchanger so it’s not the same cooling system as a car which has an air cooled system.. heat exchange through the grill. Having said that we have replaced the fresh water pump too.
