The shelf holding Seasons and Ghost Stories looks to be bending quite a bit behind you, Nick. It's making me a bit anxious. OK, back to watching the video...

Hey Nick, love your critique of games. Have you ever played New Era/51st State? As you probably know Imperial Settlers is a gateway version of the New Era, and the open production is a feature that already exists in the NE system. I wouldn't be surprised if a later expansion introduces leaders for the nations the way NE has leaders. I'm curious if you have ever thought about trying out New Era and comparing that to Imperial Settlers some time in the future?

I played the New Era once, really early in my modern board gaming life. I really didn't care for it, but it wasn't the best situation and I might appreciate it more now. I would be willing to try it again, but I won't necessarily seek it out.

Board Game Brawl The New Era is one of my favorite resource games, specifically because it has so much more player interaction than similar games. Imperial Settlers didn't grab me as much because it's much more of a hunch-over-your-own-board game. I wanted to see this review out of hope that bringing back open production cards would make the game more interactive.

Can you use the stored resources on the cards to build other cards of use actions? Or can they not be removed once they are put on the card?
