I am looking forward to that epic encounter when Guilliman and the Lion waltz into the Imperial palace seeking out their father as is their right and duty sooner or later..... poor Custodes will get a legion-wide PTSD anxiety attack in their hearts of hearts. Hopefully no one gets too trigger-happy that day and hopefully the Inquisition is well occupied somewhere else, too, as they are probably more inclined to have the Primarchs killed on the spot as those know full well, that the whole religion crap wasnt what their father intended and know that the Inquisition has drawn the just wrath of the Emperor by going directly against his commands and also the Imperial Order that forbids any religious worship.

Remember next the time GW or some tourist tells you there are “female custodians”, that if a custodians fighting capability drops by even a fraction of a percentage they resign themselves to become the eyes of the emperor as they’re no longer fit enough to serve. The difference between a male and females capabilities completely exceeds a fraction of a percent. Which would automatically result in the “female custodian” not able to actively serve. “For the vast majority of warriors, a tenth-of-a-second reduction in the speed at which blows are stuck or parried might be considered negligible. For a Custodian, it is error enough to necessitate that their watch come to an end.” Remember by the lore they are looking for the most capable to defend the emperor, not fill gender quotas.

We don't know exactly HOW Custodes are made, we just know that it's a different procedure than what the standard Space Marines go through. Since it's hinted that the procedure does not require the "donation" of a gene seed from a male Primarch, then in essence it would be possible for a young girl (devoid of genetic impurity) to survive the procedure. In the end, the one female custodes we've seen was essentially so changed that there was barely any distinction between her gender besides the voice. It's as if the change to a Custodes is so "god like" down to their very DNA that the "original" design of her body was barely kept and only the superhuman transhuman qualities were kept. The point I am trying to make is that it really doesn't matter if women CAN become Custodes because you get the same result, a near invincible demi god. Lastly, no one is forgetting the Sisters of Silence, and I'm sure they will eventually go into depth as to why only women can adapt so differently to the "Pariah Gene" (yes I know, it's still not determined if there actually is a gene for being a Blank, but it's good catch-all term).

I think, you mean the Silent Sisters? Those are indeed all females. And all psychic nulls/blanks. They are a chapter that accompanies the Custodes as well as lends a hand to the Inquisition and their battle sisters, the Adepta Sororitas. So far, never heard of female Custodes. But heard of a female inquisitors and that one was almost harder to bear then the stupid sucker Leandros.
