In this video our Digital analytics Sensei, Jean-Paul Behrens is joined by Sr. Consultant Rajdeep Singh and their friends from Jay Sherwood from Adobe and Justin McCain from Bayer Crop Sciences as they discuss real-life case study and lessons they have learned from implementing One Trust and Adobe Opt-In Services! They cover how to implement consent management to comply with various privacy acts. As well as how your analytics data is impacted when you comply (even when you comply at a global level). And in what ways you can plan ahead to avoid losing data in opt-out scenarios.

The key to such implementation needs firm steer from Legal Counsel as to which martech technologies as Functional, Performance, Analytics, etc. This is a prerequisite. Vagueries can occur, examples include the view that GA is permitted (functional) but adding Custom Dimensions is performance, making for a tricky build. Definitely document what is agreed!

Wonderful content, thank you! It seems like a lot of folks are afraid to talk about their experiences because they don't want to be on the legal hook for someone misinterpreting, but you guys handled it well. Sorry if I missed this- how does this no-cookie-identifiers approach for opted-out users handle the fact IP address (what Adobe uses as a fallback) is also considered PII? Is it as simple as using the "Replace the last octet of IP addresses with 0" report suite setting, and does that affect the solution you discussed at all?

I think visitor id (through fallback) happens before Adobe strips off the last octet or completely obfuscate the IP. Here are the settings we had for our client - www.screencast.com/t/jqcuZjns
