|| mystery song of the day ||
Don’t you notice how
I get quiet when there’s no one else around
Me and you and awkward silence
Don’t you dare look at me that way
I don’t need reminders of how you don’t feel the same
Oh, the burning pain
Listening to you harp about some new soulmate
She’s so perfect
Blah, blah, blah
Oh, how I wish you’ll wake up one day
Run to me confess your love
At least just let me say
That when I talk to you
Oh, cupid walks right through
And shoots an arrow through my heart
And I sound like a loon
But don’t you feel it, too?
Confess I loved you from the start
What’s a girl to do
Lying on my bed staring
Into the blue
Unrequited terrifying
Love is driving me a bit insane
Have to get this off my chest
I’m telling you today
That when I talk to you
Oh, cupid walks right through
And shoots an arrow through my heart
And I sound like a loon
But don’t you feel it, too?
Confess I loved you from the start
Confess I loved you
Just thinking of you
I know I’ve loved you from the start

Episodes like this help to break the whole idea that "DC heroes can't be relatable like Marvel heroes. They are gods among men, models to be inspire". DC heroes can be all idealistic heroes and still have flaws to overcome (ex: Superman needs to become so overworking and learn that his allies are able to handle the problems without him, Batman needs to stop being so isolate, Wonder Woman needs to learn to not be so quick to judge Man's World). Both DC and Marvel can have their heroes having personal arcs and flaws to overcome.

Wonder Woman teaching men to not judge women so quickly via reverse psychology cuz otherwise it's "too woke" hahaha I love your comment cuz most the lessons are lost on DC fans thru their toxic masculinity lens. But it's there. John even had to learn how to be more compassionate and human. They all had their lil arcs. Animated DC > live action

The secret society two-parter is definitely a test on the justice league's teamwork as they very nearly lose because of their very real differences lead to personal resentment towards each other, but their bonds with each other helps the justice league to overcome very real issues to win the day. Also, Giganta is a highlight of the secret society two-parter for me.

Navigating friendships and personalities can be an almost impossible task, and odds are if you threw a bunch of people with the League's personality together in a room they probably wouldn't end up friends at all. In a way along with their superpowers they are also super friends, able to maintain relationships that most people would simply let fall apart.

Even though this episode had problems, i liked how the characters are a team and had their flaws. We really saw how much Bruce cared about Wally and knew his quirks and how he talks. Seeing Clark and Bruce's relationship is always a plus in my belt. Honestly Gorilla Grodd, Killer Frost, Parasite and Shade are really underrated in the DCAU

I think it could be interesting to see you explore things with some properties you haven't yet. For example, The Phantom. The Phantom, created by Lee Falk and first airing as a comic strip in February of 1937 (making him one of the oldest masked heroes there is) is a bit obscure in the US, despite his stories coming from an American author, and aspects of his design and character can be seen and felt in some of the more well-known masked superheroes today; The Phantom was the first hero to have pure white on his mask where the eyes were, a design sensibility Batman has followed suit on ever since his first publication, and you'll have noticed the date I gave even makes the Phantom genuinely older than Batman, but the Phantom also has a code that includes the avoidance of killing, which is something that more modern iterations of Batman also tend to follow through on as well. And now the Phantom is Popular in India, some parts of Africa, and even Australia, but he really hasn't had much of an audience since the rise in popularity of what we consider the mainstays of Marvel and DC really took off for the first time. But here is the thing about the Phantom is that he's just an ordinary guy that has trained himself to the peak of what a human is fully capable of, and has been passing down how it is done to the next generation; the Phantom's stories, in a sense, are about Legacy, Duty, and Responsibilities (especially familial responsibilities); there were some times in the history of DC and Marvel where each was actually publishing the Phantom's comics for a short time; one of those, Phantom 2040, was published back in the 1990s by Marvel and got turned int an animated series before the decade was up, and took a dystopian look at what our future could look like, with the new Phantom basically have to learn about his family's legacy because he's been kept in the dark about it because his sole known surviving relative wants him to live some semblance of a normal life, but the thing about Duties as a hero, especially when it's the family business, is that sometimes the call will force a response in a very loud way. The Phantom also got a live-action movie back around 1994 with Billy Zane in the title role, and the movie does a decent job of showing all the points I mentioned in a cinematic format.

This is the one episode out of the entire JL\JLU series that I simply do not like. The entire premise is a childish, overdone trope of "hey, it's a show about a team, so let's have them bicker and fight until they break up, until at the end of the episode they make up and become friends again. yay!" What's worst is rhat it's never addressed again. By the following episode, their relationship has simply reset to what it was before any of it ever happened. instead of using those events as an opportunity for character development, the series simply acts as if they never happened. I simply do not like this episode.
